Down to 21st overall, but remaining competitive in games. Perhaps that is heading the right way for the overall rebuild?
Buffalo goaltending and defense difficult to score on
forecheck in neutral zone for scoring chances?
If the Flyers don’t restructure their scouting department they’ll never be a great team. They have the worst European Scouting department in the NHL. Outside of goalies they can’t find any European talent? You can’t spit in Europe without hitting a great hockey prospect.
This team has a serious backup goaltending issue. Ersson is not NHL ready. I'm not sure what happened to him over the summer. He looked good last year, but he can't stop a beach ball in slow motion this year. He looks WWAAYY overmatched. Flyers deserved a much better result after holding the Sabres to 15 shots for the entire game and getting 40 themselves. All the games they've lost, (save for the Ottawa and Ducks game), they've arguably outplayed their opponent. They just haven't outscored them. Keep Frostie in the lineup. Laughton is playing well as the 4th line center. Our guys have to start finishing more. Things could get really ugly if Carter Hart is out any length of time. Time to call up Cal Peterson and hope he can make some saves.
