If I’m the coaching staff I’m putting Fantilli with Johnny and Patty and I’m telling Johnny he’s not allowed to do anything but shoot the puck at the net when he gets it. I don’t care how bad the opportunity is. He’s got no spark right now and is way way too passive.

at this point you have to wonder what the fuck is going on. If it’s personal, let him step away and deal with it. If it’s not, let him sit and figure it out.
Another game where you shit ourselves early, get it together long enough to battle back in, only to shit ourselves again.
Johnny is just fucking awful, no idea why Vincent keep trotting him out in clutch situations when he just turns the puck over repeatedly.
Thank god the Crew play tomorrow, because I have no interest in watching more of this shit right now

Jesus. Goodbye fairweather fans. Were far earlier in our rebuild than detroit. Its the beginning of the season with a new coach/system and 7 new players. No, were not winning as much as id like either. But theres a whole lot of season left to improve.

3. Why on earth is Peeke playing and not Jiricek, or even Blankenburg?
4. Vincent’s still getting cute with the ice time. Marchenko only at 12:11. Why?
We have one really good line right now (Voronkov-Fantilli-Marchenko), and a pretty effective fourth line. Whatever is up with Johnny needs to get figured out and soon. Roslovic needs scratched or traded. Same for Peeke. Chinny and Jiricek need to be in this lineup over both of them.

So frustrating. Some stretches of good play, but mixed in with long stretches of awful play and with a healthy handful of killer turnovers for good measure.
I think I can see the potential in this team to be pretty good, but the inconsistency in effort and execution just won’t cut it.
Whatever the opposite of synergy is, this team seems to have it.
Whoever number 13 is on the ice, he sure as shit ain’t Johnny Hockey.

Didn’t get to watch the game, was busy around noon time. What happened? Judging by the scoring we actually fought back, so if there’s any, ANY positive I’ll take is that this team isn’t coached by Larsen, cuz they would’ve given up if they went 2 down.

And also to all those people saying us “doomers” are ridiculous: Our GM came out before the season, then in the third game of the season, saying that “the goal is simple, playoffs”. He’s made big money moves for big name players, and look at what’s happening.
“It’s still early and we’re *only* 2 games back from the playoffs”.
The logic of “only” being behind a few points or games of a playoff spot works when it’s late in the season and we’re trying to leapfrog someone into a playoff spot. The fact that’s it’s early is a problem, we’re not chasing one team, we’re chasing half the conference, and that’s extremely hard to do at the start when you’ve got 7-8 teams you’re trying to pass up, because everyone’s doing the same thing. This is why getting off to a bad start is NEVER a good idea.
