Unfortunate effort, but I have trouble thinking they’ll put out such a lacsidasical effort two games in a row after what we’ve seen from them under tocchet this year. If we win vs the Froggies 🐸, 2 out of 3 on a roadie is a really solid trip

  2. kruizer28

That was a really boring game to watch. Neither team was generating much and it was quite sloppy. Defensively I actually thought we were fine, the leafs just capitalized on most of their chances. Not being able to generate much against that leafs defence is a bit concerning tho

Pissed I didn’t parlay a Canucks and Lions loss

    Turns out PDO stood for

    Pesky

    Damn

    fOliage

That second period and the powerplays were really hard to watch. That was some PTSD flashbacks there.

Good teams bounce back strong and tomorrow will be the first chance to show it. Here’s hoping

Not a great effort, but It’s going to happen some nights. It’s unfortunate it’s against Toronto, as their fans can be insufferable. But it is what it is.

  7. TattooedBrogrammer

Didn’t look like the other games. Nobody infront of the net on the good looks, not a lot of sustained pressure. Not a ton of chances off the rush.

We let the leaves off the hook when it was 2-1 and we’re on the PP.

the leaves were rattled by our physicality, then we just… stopped for whatever reason.

People are looking at the score to tell how they were playing. It was not there best game but overall they played oright. Some minor periods they looked a little passiv, lost and made some simple stuff to complicated but others they controlled the play. They won the shots 33-22 but when you get .773 from Demko and .939 from Samsonov the game will be hard to win.
Important to have a strong mental performance tomorrow to build some character!

Seriously this might be the worst broadcasts I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen them choose to use so many odd camera angles, constantly cutting away from the main camera and worst of all just zooming in on random things and holding it away from the play. The number of random close up that just held as the play went on, it felt like I watching a replay almost where the whole game was shot with whatever camera they used for the third time they replayed a particular shot.

That was rough for us, but the Leafs played well. They came back from behind and overcame powerplay and shots on goal disadvantages.

One game like that once in a while is fine. The real test is how we respond in the next few games.

Ugh Demko’s sv% tanking isn’t the issue. But against a tea like the Leafs…

I hope my unsolicited advice helps at least one of you: be glad the streak is over like this so you can stop feeling so insecure about how lucky you’ve had it as a fan this season

I’m sorry everyone. I’m now 0-4 when showing up to Canucks games live.

Top line was non existent tonight. An especially awful outing for Petey. My guy needs to simplify his game and just shoot the puck.

Not even mad about the loss, that was some fantastic hockey tonight. Happy to be watching entertaining games from the Canucks again.

Win tomorrow night and 4/6 points on this road trip is fine with me.

Did the Canucks fall asleep tonight? That messy of play is not like them this year.

I know we’re memeing about pdo, and pdo in one game is not very meaningful, but this is an example of a very low pdo game: 5v5 pdo of 0.667. matches the eye test too: leafs had a bunch of lucky ones go in, and Canucks couldn’t really make anything happen on offense

  18. N4ZZY2020

We weren’t ready to play. Petey looked like he was trying to impress someone. Making extra moves and what not. Not his game. Keep it simple and he’ll be fine. Win tmr. Leave this one behind.

  19. Need to enter enemy territory with more intent than that, especially on Remembrance Day.

  20. touchable

Everyone is calling out Petey for playing a bad game (and I agree), but what about Huggy? This was by far his worst game of the season. Other than that shot off the corner of the post, he didn’t really generate any offense, and he gave the puck away way too much in his own zone, (leading to at least 1 goal).

Demmer also had a weak game.

To be honest, I can’t name a single Canuck who had a “good” game. Maybe Cole? Maybe Suter?

  21. shadownet97

Looked great first ten min of the game. That’s it.

We pulled an Oilers tonight. Bleh.

  22. CheesecakeOdd2087

These games will happen over the course of an 82 game season. Of course it sucks that it had to happen against Toronto on HNIC, but it is what it is. Our star players were off tonight and they got the bounces. Need to come back with a.good effort tomorrow in Montreal which I think they will.

  23. It looked like everyone was trying to make that extra pretty pass, especially on the powerplay. We’re 10-3-1, i’m sure the boys will take this as a lesson and come back to playing a simple game tomorrow.

  24. tenderluvin

… I wore my Canucks toque to go shopping earlier today. I never wear my regalia on game day. First time this year… I’m really sorry guys. It was an accident. It won’t happen again.

  25. Due_Entertainment_44

Some regularly scheduled adversity is good to keep the team grounded. Tocchet must be annoyed though, they lost to Philly (his old team) and now in his hometown Toronto.

  26. I think we needed a reality check. Hopefully we regroup and bounce back strong.

  27. Chipmunk-Adventurous

Cant win em all. Leafs deserved that one.

  28. avmp629

Don’t worry guys, our PDO was only .833 so I’m sure the folks at r/hockey will know that we’re still a good team that just got unlucky – oh they don’t care? Interesting
