  1. Once his offensive game rebounds he’ll be worth every penny. Hes been rock solid defensively and im not saying he needs to be a 40-50 pt guy, but 30-35 pts would be good.

  2. When you're winning, it's hard to complain. We haven't had our weaknesses truly exposed yet, though (thank you, Bruce). It certainly mattered that OEL wasn't racking up the points when nobody else could, but now he's really the kind of d-man we need. Could a top 4 defensive d-man be had for cheaper than OEL? Most likely, and that's going to be a problem down the road, but right now, the team is winning and he's been a significant part of that on the defensive, minute munching side. There are bigger problems with this team than OEL. Pearson until last game was a bigger issue in terms of price tag vs contribution.

  3. "…double the cap hit he´s probably worth" – So OEL is worth 3.63 million in your opinion? I´d be fine with 5 million, maybe even 5.5. Like Chris (Thornycroft) in the comments pointed out, he´s actually the kind of d-man we need. I rather have his combination of defensive and offensive play of this season than his offensive and defensive play of last season, if you know what i mean.

  4. I think he's been pretty decent.. sometimes you don't notice him too much out there, and when you don't notice a dman, that means he's doing his job… yes, would be a bonus if he could contribute a bit more to the offense, but maybe that'll come.

  5. Defence has been good from him more points would be nice but his first job is to defend and he’s doing that the points will come soon

  6. Thats the way I feel about Skinner on the Sabres this year vastly overpaid but, hes at least putting up points and being serviceable

  7. His shot looked excellent to start the year. He was hitting posts and crossbars. It seemed like those would start going in but after a while he stopped shooting as much and the shots he does make don't even pass the eye test anymore. Still, he'll get some of his old mojo back at some point to some degree… and what millions he's overpaid can to some degree be forgiven for Garland being underpaid. I think Garland will be worth his weight in gold if they make the playoffs because you just know he's a big-game guy.

  8. Oel no production slow Declined Canucks can trade Him retained Him many shots no results we need more from Him but at 30 yikes Defensely ok but need more from him oel Myers poolman Hopefully next GM SELL them.

  9. I think OEL has been very solid for Van. He is playing very passive the past 2/3 of the season and I think that has stunted his offensive numbers but overall helped team defense which Van needs more than OEL having 6 more points. Idk if he is worth 7.25 tho… probably be a good value player at like 4.5 – 5 a year.
