I disagree. There were coaching system changes this year and they failed, so there is a reason why firing the coach had merit. But the GM should have been fired too for the roster construction. Honestly, a lot of firings should have happened today but the coach I agree with. He was given a roster that was 100 percent capable of going 500.

This is a Hail Mary. They get Knoblauch in and hope it turns around, if it does not, they have Paul Coffey (old boy's club) waiting to take over next year. This whole thing is an attempt to buy time and get Coffey some coaching experience, Oilers are effectively writing off the season and hoping Connor's Erie Otter coach can placate him until Coffey is ready.
