  1. I hope Woodcroft joins a different team and wins a cup. I'm so sick of this McDavid whiny diva bullshit. PLAYERS SHOULD NOT DECIDE WHO COMES AND GOES. This organization went from the old boys club to the Connor and Jeff club.

  2. Wow!! What a massive Mistake!!!! This is just brutal! This coach was one of the best things we have added to our team…. Completely rigged pulled

  3. Ya i see most fans say fire ken… i honestly don't know i just hope this helps

  4. After McDavid amd Draisaitl and I giess Hyman, the Oilers have no talent and Holland did mothing to try and get some. The goalie coach should have been the first guy out, then Holland and then the coach. I do believe Woodcroft needed to go because he tried to change the style of hockey too much. You can't come in and completely change your game after a few years of success (only losing to the Stanley Cup champions in two playoff runs. It was obvious that the players were not buying into his style of play.

  5. Time will tell, but I really don't think Woody was the issue here. Ken Holland on the other hand…

  6. I dont know enough about hockey to say one way or another, but i liked woodcroft and the atmosphere he brought to Roger’s Place. Sad to see him go

  7. This is McDrai's sixth head coach in eight years. Just face facts guys…the players run the team. McDrai gets their buddy to be head coach and Coffey gets to report back to ownership from behind the bench about what moves McDrai's buddy behind the bench is making. Welcome to the "old boy's club guys". Same as it ever was.

The day after it's announced the coach will be fired after the road trip…the team miraculously plays the most complete game of the season. Next they go on a tear and try to make the playoffs. The inmates rule this asylum folks. I hope they fail. I was hoping to see McDavid hoisting a cup wearing an Oiler's sweater…now I hope they finish the season in WC3. …because I don't want to hear about them having any chance of winning the freaking lottery. This team went from shocking to disgusting in two days.

  8. Problem is that Ken Holland didn't do anything over the summer to improve the Oiler's roster. Jay had no choice but to work with what he got.

  9. The only thing Woodcroft was responsible for was changing their D and Neutral zone defensive structure from this year to last, which imo, didn't need to happen consider he coached them to a 50 win season last year. Everything else is on the players and the GM. Ken has done some good things but those Nurse and Campbell contracts look absolutely terrible. Nurse is a 6mill player at most and Campbell is letting in beach balls in the AHL. The team has also not done nearly enough this year to be successful. They look absolutely terrible out there most nights so far, and 29 and 97 have quiet obviously not been themselves whatsoever. Nothing has went right for the Oilers but unfortunately Woody paid the price for everyone else's early season incompetence.

  10. It was already reported that he was going to be fired after the road trip before the offical news today so this isn't surprising.

  11. Jay was handcuffed by the injuries and the cap space … if anyone should have been fired it should have been holland or the goalie coach . I personally would have given Jay the game tomorrow after the win in Seattle .. but it sounds like the decision was made after the San Jose game and I can't really blame them for making that move .. they could have lost the seatle game and then the game tomorrow as well .. hopefully this is a change for the better … I'm sure they will play a good game tomorrow .. teams normally play well for a new coach .. but how long will that last .. I still think it a mistake playing nurse and ceci together .. maybe they should go .. problem is Nurse is paid to much .. and ceci is considered a good value .. so both are kinda untradeable for different reasons

  12. I liked Jay… Maybe this will bee a good thing for thee Oilers, but I don't think Jay was a bad coach at all..

  13. I feel like it’s pretty one-sided that Woodcroft should have stayed but the defense coach and goalie coach needed to go. Or get Holland out of here.
