If the Leafs fan base weren't so hateful and toxic to players perhaps they could actually be successful for once. But what do you expect, it's Toronto. The culture is absolute poison.
I wonder who might have been a decent, cheaper alternative if you wanted a more supplemental offensive defenseman. Maybe someone like Erik Gustafson might have made sense, could have gotten him cheaper…
As a leafs fan, from the minute they announced the signing I knew it was gonna be a mistake. Tyson Barrie 2.0 but worse defensively is what I called it and unfortunately I (and most leafs fans) have been right
Ia he just a backup plan for a Reilly injury?
Only positive thus far is that it is a 1 year contract tbh.
Aww, what a shame đčđčđčđ«” from a Bruins fan
His Bro just drop off one season…not shocked this happened
Klingberg SUCKS theres talks about scratching him while liljegren timmins and mccabe are out.
Leafs needs a defenceman like ekholm or kovacevic
They knew what they were getting so why make a big deal about nothing.
I will never miss Justin Holl
The Reaves signing made sense when it happened imo, the team needs someone to take matters in their hands when the refs wouldn't (though since he hasn't fought or done anything since game 2 i don't know why he's in the lineup) – but i have never understood the Klingberg singing. The PP has been good, even though Rielly isn't the best at running it.
Feel sad for the rest of the Canadian teams, as a Canucks fan, I was expecting the Canucks to suck and the rest of the Canadian teams to progress, but this year is going much different than expected. Great time to be a Nucks fan.
I actually defended this signing when free agency hit, as I felt strongly that without such an addition, everybody would be hung up on the Leafs being unable to put out a second D-pair that was capable of connecting play with the forwards, guess that wasn't the foremost of their concerns
On the other hand, I think the Canucks would entertain the idea of trading a guy like Anthony Beauvillier, who hasn't scored a ton but hasn't been a liability like Klingberg, as well as having an identical cap hit and being a pending upcoming UFA, for said D-man and a late round pick. I could see Klingberg finding some stability alongside a shutdown ace like Ian Cole
This is the Brad T effect, the man is an incompetent fool who only is getting jobs because of the "Old Boys Club" bullshit the ownership of NHL teams seem to adore.
It boggles my mind how Toronto clearly needs defense, but for some reason, they just keep doubling down and getting more offense like they donât already have 4 forwards eating half their cap. Theyâve got their priorities in all the wrong places.
Horrible. Nothing else needs to be said
It's about time a team like Vancouver came in to steal the show from both Toronto and Edmonton and I mean they don't need the next biggest goal scorer or best player day to day because Pettersson is looking to stay with the team if they perform like this so the Canucks are ready and Demko is back which is great to see.
as a Stars fan: yeah, we tried to warn yâall
