    It’s not just the player it’s the team and the coach that make the toughness. Leafs will never win with Keefe. And players that are skillful but physically weak like Marner and even Nylander and Tavares will never win you a SC

    Boston has no reason to be this good after losing the players that they did. The only possible reason is collusion or rigging hockey games for the mafia.

    Bertuzzi, Klingberg, picks, and a prospect over to Calgary for Lindholm, Zadorov, and Salary retained Tanev who says no? This team we know isn't going to play physical or brash style of hockey but you can have guys like Zadorov, Mccabe, Rielly and Tanev on defence protecting the players and goalies if need be. If this player also takes a lower cap hit than Bertuzzi did then sign up Patrick Kane as well. When Liljgrenn returns then waive Reaves because no one is taking that contract and if someone claims him even better! then the Leafs roll these lines

    – Marner / Matthews / Kane
    – Knies / Lindholm / Nylander
    – Robertson / Tavares / Domi
    – Gregor / Kampf / Jarnkrok

    – Rielly / Tanev
    – McCabe / Brodie
    – Zadorov / Liljgrenn

    – Woll / Samsonov

    you can not tell me that group doesn't look better than what we have going rn. Klingberg literally is the Tyson Barrie experiment all over again, Bertuzzi seems like he doesn't care, Domi does care but hasn't settled in and Reaves is a waste of cap space and can't do anything while on the ice. The mentality also comes from the coach so Keefe needs to leave as well because he has done nothing to fix the attitude and mentality of the team since the Babcock era and that's a problem as well. Whether he gets replaced by Guy Boucher who would not be a bad option or if Dubas as soon as he sees Keefe let go he then fires Mike Sullivan and then the Leafs hire Sully I'd be all for that as Sullivan's coaching style and experience actually molds well with the type of team Toronto is currently which is speed and skill and a quick counter attack off the rush in which a defender joins in the rush as another defender stays at centre until the puck is firmly in the offensive zone and not to mention Sully is a dump and chase coach as well.

    And all the players traded for have expiring contracts as well that last til the end of this season so if the Leafs fail again they can easily just reset their cap and go for a soft rebuild as this current team might be the last gasp at a genuine run until things need to be changed. Time to put the team to the test and make things uncomfortable because this fanbase is done with the excuses and constant pandering either you perform or everything gets torn down point blank!

    Marchand only has one Stanley Cup, hardly a guy with "rings coming out his a**" But yes, he's still a fantastic player. I too wish Bert would get a little greasier, that's what he was signed for.

    It’s Keene. They don’t listen to him. Yelling and screaming from the bench gets nobody anywhere. Whatever “System” he thought he had is long gone and he’s not that deep. He can’t dig himself out of this mess he’s made. He’s got to go!

    Because vets like Marchand have cultivated a dressing room of sandpaper and the Leafs embrace soft and skilled. Works for the regular season and early exits in the playoffs.
