  1. Modern day hockey teams need to pay more attention to the psychology of the players. Montreal in particular has seen first had the MASSIVE impact that confidence has on a player's performance in what they went through with Caufield with that nitwit coach. It's the same thing with this kid, he hasn't been able to develop the way he should have as a typical 18 year old because he had the added pressure of being picked first overall. I honestly think that for some players being picked first is more a curse than anything. He should have been sent to junior first and been allowed to develop and then to the AHL and then the NHL. The bottom line is that not everyone can just jump from the draft floor to the NHL, in fact that is exceedingly rare. NHL teams need to smarten up and understand the math and the psychology that they are dealing with. They will ruin this kid if they aren't careful.

  2. Would Love to see Slaf-Monahan-X, maybe Caufield. Monahan really slows the game down in the offensive zone and Caufield gets over defended. Tons of time and space might be what Slav needs.

  3. slafkovsky still has a slow processor, he still is learning to make decisions at the NHL you have little time so i see he is still struggling to adapt his decision making speed to the speed of the best league in the world. IF he is able to train his brain to be faster(something that MSL raves about btw) he could be a skillfull powerforward with a good tool kit of speed power and agility.

  4. He’s doing fine
    He’s 19 ffs
Loom at KK now ! Hey!!
Stop been hard on ours kids, get it their kids.
Damn, like to see you try to play the game.

  5. When you are a no 1 pick or even a no.2 over all you should be good enough to make your own plays or make any players playing around you better and productive , for almost 1 1/2 season he has shown mostly none of that.

  6. I'm so sick and tired of hearing about Slav being a bust. Every other team in the league has budding stars on their rosters that have taken 2 to up to 5 years to finally come out. But NO, Not in Montreal. No one has the damn patience to let a kid play and get some experience under his belt and learn and find his game. It's all NOW NOW NOW! And even 1000 times worse because he was a 1st overall. I'm so sick of it. If something happens that he gets traded and becomes a star elsewhere, or even a good top 6, I swear I'm giving up.

  7. i think what he needs to do is simply get used to the smaller ice. i don’t think that’s fully translated to the nhl yet. he should spend a lot of time getting used to it and watching film

  8. The reason for the hard critique of a teenager is bc he IS a number one pick. For example you are seeing Connor Bedard this season already advance more in the NHL than Slaf. So i get the critique. But Slaf just needs more time and his peak ks probs a 60 point power forward possibley.

  9. Slavkosky has no business on the Habs top line and minutes.
    He can't make plays.
He coughs it up all the time…
He's like the coaches son and there's nothing to do about it.

  10. Take Anderson away from him and he suddenly becomes 10x better. In fact take Anderson away, point.
