The Minnesota Wild lost for the 3rd straight game and 7th time in their last 9 games as they fell to the Stars 8-3 at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild allowed 5 Power Play Goals and 2 shorthanded goals to the Stars tonight. The 5 Power Play goals allowed is a franchise record and the 8 goals allowed is tied for the most allowed at Xcel Energy Center in its history. The Wild did get goals from Brandon Duhaime, Vinni Lettieri and Mats Zuccarelo, but only managed 6 shots in the third period. The Wild fall to 5-8-2 on the season, and have allowed the second most goals in the entire NHL so far this year. The Wild will now head to Sweden for the International Showcase games on Saturday and Sunday.

The team may not recover from this funk. Their special teams (especially the PK) are dreadful but worse it’s as if the team has given up especially after the Dallas game. The team has hit a wall and your Superstar Kaprisov just looks defeated. The Flower deserves better than this. I thought this would be the year we’d fall apart because it’s essentially the same team the last few years and they’re getting old now. I’m embarrassed for them as I’m sure the rest of you are but the buyout screwed us for years. Ownership was onboard with this so they had to know the basement was about to give way at some point. Oh and everybody’s back and we still are losing so if not now the management will have to take a long look to see why they’re so awful right now but my vote or one of them is we’re old. Thank god at least The Vikings are winning. We may have to go total rebuild guys here by 25’ or sooner. We can trace the fall of this team last year against Dallas in the playoffs. The same issues this year we got a glimpse of last year and even against The Blues the year before. I don’t know if they failed to see the signs or if they hid it because ticket sales might plummet due to poor performance so they kept it quiet. I’m sure even if what I said was close they’d never admit it and I’m okay with that but this isn’t going to get better I’m afraid.
