Fairly sure there would be an unspoken ban on Kovalchuk from ever getting any honors from this league let’s be real

    Also, no Gonchar?

  2. trouthunter8

i cant wait to see all of the Datsukian Deekes in the highlight reels. I think you get auto inducted when they create new verbs for your game…

  3. Habsfan_2000

I believe Weber is currently playing with the Coyotes and has a contract until 2026 wink wink.

  4. PaleAdagio3377

Datsyuk is a player that 14year old hockey players know and look up to today. What an amazing hockey person. Drafted so late and completely dominated on both ends of the ice.

  5. NotAMacaw

Most of those don’t have a cup and according to the majority of hockey fans, having a Cup is the criteria to get in….

  6. jdmay101

Datsyuk is a no brainer. The others are more borderline cases.

  7. Salty-Consequence580

Is datsyuk not there yet?? That surprises me

  8. sc083127

Datayuk, then a look back at other people who haven’t gotten in (Mogilny especially)

  9. Brookie069

Datsyuk is an easy lock. Don’t think you can really be put on the top 100 greatest players of all time and not be a hall call lol

  10. natebibaud

Ryan Miller has a career sub .500 winning percentage. Not going to cut it.

  11. redditguyinthehouse

First hall of fame noms that make me feel old

  12. TheRealz4090

The god of hockey, datsyuk should have his number retired. Most skilled player of all time. ALL TIME.

  13. Hot_Recognition1798

but where is Rod Brind’Amour? I will die on this cross

  14. red_mufasa

Datsyuk is the reason i started watching hockey, wasnt the same for me after he left the wings. Dude is a legend

  15. CitizenNaab

Datsyuk, Kovalchuk, and Marleau I think are definitely hall of famers when it’s all said and done. Ryan Miller and Rinne can make a case. I don’t know if Weber is a hall of famer.

  16. Constant-Squirrel555

Datsyuk needs to be first ballot.

If he stayed in the NHL he might have another Selke or two.

Him and Bergeron are the best defensive forwards of all time

  17. burtonboy1234

Datsyuk should be an absolute no brainer

  18. GravyBoatWarrior

    Dats makes it first ballot.

All the others belong in the hall of very good, not the hall of fame.

  19. Kyletw15

The only three to consider: Datsyuk, Marleau, Rinne.

  20. If kovalchuk gets in before Mogilny we riot

  21. ---BluesDeVille---

Datsyuk is a first-ballot. Zetterberg should have also been first-ballot before the Sedin twins.

  22. SikkWithIt

Datsyuk is a first ballot. Easy. My only concern is if politics are brought in because he’s Russian *eye roll* hopefully that’s not the case

  23. The-Reddit-Giraffe

I think Rinne deserves it 100%. People saying he’s borderline but in my mind he’s pretty well locked in there. Rinne was just barely a step behind guys like Price, Lundqvist and Luongo

  24. anwright1371

Honestly Datsyuk is the only clear cut HOF candidate. The rest are first ballot in the hall of very good

  25. badandbergy

Marleau and Datsyuk should be first ballot… Have to factor in international achievements. Both have gold medals. Long NHL careers. Datsyuk has 2 cups. Marleau’s got 2 gold medals and most regular season games played.

  26. M0D_0F_MODS

Kovalchuk is a bitch. He belongs in russia with the rest of them bitches. Although Datsyuk is cool.

  27. jpatt05

The only lock is Datsyuk. How somebody can look at his 2 way game and try to say “he didn’t have the numbers” is hilarious to me. Rinne is definitely close. Ryan Miller was screwed over his whole career, so i don’t know. He should just cause I feel bad for the guy haha

  28. amusing_a_musing

Datsyuk: Yes. Checks off hardware (Selke, Byngs), almost 1000 points, close to PPG, Stanley Cup champion, and definitively has some panache and pizzazz in his game

Kovalchuk: Interesting case. Has Rocket but no Cup and his departure from the NHL was unceremonious at best. Career totals are lacking also.

Weber: Yes. Stalwart on canadas Olympic teams + runs to the final with Montreal + overall Norris finishes should be enough

Marceau: Will probably get in, not this year but eventually.

    Rinne

  29. TheFoundation_

All are deserving imo, but Datsyuk is a shoe in

  30. sneakyfingers45

Only player on this list that’s hall of fame calibre is datsyuk

  31. onbiver9871

It warms my heart to see all the non-Wings fans brigading for The Magic Man.

  32. PFC-FartSalad

Pavel Datsyuk is a truly unique player who has had a significant impact on the game of hockey so 100% yes! The way he dominated the game with his puck skills is mesmerizing. Kovalchuk is a mehhh mayyybeeee. Marleau had a long tenured career and sits on top of some milestones so sure, throw him in there! But the rest of this list I don’t think have achieved enough to make the fame.

  33. CrotchSwamp94

Datsyuk is an easy yes for me. That’s the mf GOAT

  34. the1seajay

If either of those goalies gets in before Osgood, I will riot

  35. Hoping the HHOF waited to put Datsyuk and Zetterberg in at the same time
