  1. Klingberg jsut signed for 4.125mil. That means there was competition for his services. His value isn’t going to drop like a rock all the way down to a salary dump in 15 games, especially when he had a whole season of mediocre play to dro his value.

  2. Klingberg has value to Calgary if he is willing to resign with Calgary. Flames have Two, count that TWO, returning D-Men. Rest are UFA. They need NHL D-Men and a player like Klingberg would fit into Calgary because he is a veteran body that can Q-B a powerplay. This would be no different than Ceci or Barrie when we all “assumed” they weren’t’ worth anything. Both signed lucrative contracts the following year. We saw Holl sign a lucrative deal. Don’t underestimate the situation Calgary is in with respect to returning D-Men. They do not want to be in a situation where they need to recruit virtually a whole defence in the offseason.

In light of that, I could see Klingberg, Minten, Benoit and a 2nd going to Calgary for Tanev and Zadorov with Calgary paying a 3rd team for some salary retention. Flames get two NHL D-Men now plus an opportunity to either resign Klingberg or trade him at the deadline for a 2nd or 3rd round pick. To me, that makes sense. LEafs giving up a 1st rounder for Zadorov seems like a lot when they can get a rental for a 2nd closer to the deadline.

  3. Who in blue hell would want Klingberg?? Since the Leafs are tight on the cap, salary coming in would require salary coming out. Anything is possible so….. maybe that means Klingberg.

  4. Don't forget Domi and Marner played with Zadorov on the London Knights, so both of those players would be playing much better knowing that BIG ZAD had their backs again, not to mention Robertson and the core four would feel safer as well!!!

  5. Zadorov is a pretty decent skater and can carry the puck out of the zone. Which is very good for a puck possession high octane offence like Toronto. Zadorov is tall and makes big hits (at points where it is at the worst of times).

So depending on how Toronto sees paying. Toronto has rid of all their 2nd round picks. So it’s either a conditional 1st + Klingberg or Conditional 3rd + Klingberg + Minten.

  6. An A level prospect, John klingberg, 3rd and 4th in 2024 and a 3rd in 2025. For Zadorov half retained, Tanev a 4th in 2025

  7. Minten isn't going anywhere lol you guys are on some different levels man lol next we gonna see Knies lol😊
