  1. Still sad not to see woody anymore, but it is what it is and hope this guy can turn the ship around

  2. I think we lost a good coach, and gained a yes man for the management who think they know better

  3. FEELINGS DONT WIN YOU HOCKEY GAMES!!! Jesus guys how many times did you need to hear him say "its a bump in the road and were fixing our mistakes." Knob seems way more like a leader than a "best friend" like woodcroft. Knob controlled the bench and seemed to engage the players way more than woodcroft.

  4. Knob looks like a great fit this game. Obviously still trying to digest the woody firing. Look forward to this guy! At least for 1 more year until they fire him and bring in a new coach

  5. Great start for the new coach. Coffey looked good on the bench too.

I think the team was beginning to gel and play how they expected before, but now they can certainly turn up the Knob.

    72-9-1 LETS GO OILERS!

  6. Congrats on your first win coach, team really played better as the game moved along. Nice to see the big boys step it up. Coach seems to have a real calm presence about it him. Heres to many more wins!

  7. He seems like a really good guy… I just hope they don't eventually make him another scapegoat for management's incompetence.

  8. Gonna really miss Woody and still don't agree with his firing, but Knobs seems like a pretty likeable guy

  9. To take nothing from this guy's first win in the NHL, it is comical to see comments in here already proclaiming what a win this move was, and how great he is.

EDM beat a hilariously garbage NYI team tonight, and it took them until the 3rd period to even do that.

Don't jump the gun on this just yet, because in a couple weeks' time, you could look like a complete moron.

There was nothing on this game that scream "Kris made this win possible". There was some luck, and some better efforts from the players, against a slumping NYI team.

    Anyways, moving on………….

  10. I hear he is more defensive coach, maybe a few more trades, we can play better in the future. Fire the goalie coach, and get a veteren goalie

  11. Way too early to count chickens but this was good to see and so far I like his mentality alot. Hoping he's essentially Ted Lasso at empowering and making his players feel good about their game

  12. Hearing about line stability and not wanting to shift lines every two minutes so chemistry can be built is so refreshing. I like woody but his constant line shifting was so tough.

  13. Woody could always get them to play a solid 20 minutes and hang out for the other 40 minutes so hopefully the new guy gets a solid at least 50 minutes out of them every game.

  14. I feel for woody but I'm sure he'll land with a great team! Hoping this turns out to be a great season for the Oilers.

  15. This don’t hit right without Woody win or lose. I’m from Kansas and never played Hockey in my life. Sutter and Woody got me into the sport. Loved the adversity they discussed. So entertaining. Unfortunately I placed a big bet on the oilers to win the cup right before Woody got fired. Have a horrible feeling about it but the win tonight helped.

  16. Jay Woodcroft prove himself, i think oilers issue is bigger than just changing head coach. I even think it was mistake to change woodcroft away.

  17. I’m sure Knob is a great guy. It’s just hard to see the organization shoot themselves in the foot by letting Woody go. The Oilers will come to regret this error.
