After looking at the replay in slow motion, IMO, The hit was nearly similar or closely related to the McAvoy illegal check to the head of OEL during the Florida-Boston game earlier in the season. Don’t be surprised if Cotter gets a lesser ban than McAvoy, pending on Cotters suspension history with the NHL.

not surprised. Cotter almost gave Bowen Byram a concussion a few weeks ago. unfortunately Cotter wasn't penalized
Sure give him a 2 minute because I guess you have to, but a misconduct here is an absolute joke.
Kuznetsov = veteran
Cotter = never heard of him
Therefore, Cotter will be assessed 5 games and Kuznetsov probably played the next shift after his concussion protocol.
It being Kuznetsov, couldn't they also call it an illegal check to the headcase?

He was already turning away from the hit when contact was made. Probably get nominated for a Oscar for that.
Didn’t drive hard into him, kuz milked it tho. If he was actually hurting from a concussion he wouldn’t be sitting on the bench drinking water. He’d be dizzy and seeing tunnel vision for a while. Was a dirty hit but wasn’t malicious or intentional like a Tom Wilson hit
