  2. About as good as it gets now; Klingberg has been awful but putting him on the left with Lagesson is probably the best spot for him right now when he comes back. That way you protect him from tough matchups and help him build confidence.

Klingberg has this “Jake Gardiner-esque” quality where he skates so well and looks so poised at times with the puck that I want to believe he is good… but he makes such glaring errors that result in goals against. If he can simplify into being a breakout starting machine from the third pair that’s probably about the most I can expect of him, and could actually be valuable.

There is definitely going to be a need to add a defenseman at the deadline; ideally a #2-3 who can slot into either the first or second pair. If possible I’d rather push Giordano, Brodie or McCabe down into the third pair then look to upgrade the third pair with someone like Zadorov. Hanifin is probaly the example of player I would want; question is do the Leafs have the assets to make that type of trade.

  3. So looks like Klingberg missed practice.

Being Swedish, I wouldn’t be surprised if he draws in on Friday

Praying they are sitting Klingberg due to an impending trade

These two weeks are actually really great for us. Going to get massive amounts of practise and video in to do a minor adjustment for things that aren’t quite clicking yet

  6. Have a feeling Reaves will play Minny regardless of the outcome against Detroit, which I don’t hate tbh. I’m optimistic that Reaves will work much better as a 13th forward if he’s able to bring that energy he had in his first 2 games more regularly if he’s not playing every game

How often are practice lineups the same as the following game?

  8. The Reaves and Klingberg contracts continue to make no sense. I am glad McMann was able to step in and provide something, as well Lagesson looks like a more than adequate 6/7th D
