Brady Tkachuk scored twice, Tim Stuetzle had a pair of assists and batted in the overtime-winner to lift the Ottawa Senators over the Detroit Red Wings 5-4 in Sweden.

    This was a crazy game. The first two periods had little if any structure. Both teams were sloppy and out of position. Jet lag, I guess. Both have the shooters and can push the puck up the ice.

    Alfredsson must have had mixed emotions behind the bench. And, what the hell is he doing there? Have they invented ANOTHER position for him that requires no effort and can't be measured? Is he getting yet another Award…he's been celebrated for everything, even things he never did…all that's left is a Nobel Prize…and hey, Barry Soetoro (Obama) was awarded one and no one knows why…perhaps it's Elfie's turn. Waddyathink? If Ownership believes Orangeman Bad MUST be part of the Organization, couldn't they hide him away somewhere (bathroom prederably) so we don't have see his lying mug? This is the guy who acter making 10s of millions, wouldn't accept a trade…to a Stanley Cup contender…(3 months of work) and return to Sens to start the next season if that's what he wanted. It speaks to how badly he wanted a Championship but mostly, his lack of appreciation. A trade would have netted the Organization that made him a multi-millionaire, some Picks or Prospects. It would have been a painless way to say thanks AND a chance at the Prize. Elfie left a bad taste in my mouth how he left. Rather than be a man, he lied to Murray. He knew he was leaving for Detroit but couldn't summon the kahonees to say it. So he lied and when he tired of that he simply ignored the many phone calls and emails from our GM. It's what children and cowards do. What he was really good at was showing up for every Gala Event hosted by the same tired faces we've seen for years, Mayor Watson, Greenspon, Greenbergs, Shenkmans… He had/has all the personality of tissue paper soiled by a sneeze, but the Senator Organization worked tirelessly (with the help of their agent at The Ottawa Sun) creating a living "God" (demand creation) and everyone fell for it. The City took very good care of him and his brother…yet he couldn't sacrifice 3 months of service or summon the courage to be honest to someone he described as a "good friend" and tell him he was going to play with his many fellow Swedes in Detroit. Anybody and everybody would have understood and wished him well. Instread, he held an embarrassing press conference to readvs prepared statement and call Murray out for reneging on a deal. Orangeman Bad had no isdues what so ever cashing in the fat cheques of the front loaded contract…but at the end, he turned on his "good friend". His true colours were finally revealed for all to see. I am probably alone but I don't want this individual to be part of my favourite Team again, ever. He is an absolute fraud…a fabulous hockey player, but a fraud.
