Years after the 1991 draft trade fell through, the Rangers finally acquired Eric Lindros from the Philadelphia Flyers, in exchange for Pavel Brendl, Jan Hlavac, and Kim Johnsson. Lindros would produce a ton during his first season as a Ranger, including two hat tricks but would decline significantly in the final two seasons, the last one ending prematurely from a concussion. Brendl would flame out in limited NHL action, not living up to his draft hype. Hlavac would float around the NHL, while Johnsson would play eleven seasons in the show.
