  1. What’s wrong is defense and goaltending – the fact that they can climb out of these situations is purely because of depth

  2. The thing that's wrong is the put forth effort for about ten minutes a game. They're trash.

  3. Detroit played about 12 minutes of the game, Ottawa about 20 minutes. The rest was sloppy garbage play, missing passes, fanning or breaking sticks on shots, hitting the post twice in 3 seconds, puck bouncing out of control leading to multiple goals. The defense is terrible with players out of position, puck sliding between the skates to the opponent for easy goals, losing control of the puck at center ice from a lazy poke check, tripping and falling away from the play without contact. Totally a mess.

  4. Petry is the worst defenceman I have ever seen in a long time paired with chariot who is just a bad

  5. Yeah, I'm sure it's crossed my mind before about Yzerman not being the answer for the Wings success as well. Don't know how he did so well in Tampa in such a short time. Maybe he's just jinxed in Detroit, since he doesn't have the other Red Wing greats around him. Don't know. I think the problem is the head coach (Lalonde), their defense, and, at times, their goaltending. Goaltenders have to have halfway decent defenders, and the Wings don't seem to have that for 60 minutes a game. I may be wrong, and maybe its too soon, but I think Mo Seider is overrated as a defenseman. He is nowhere near the caliber player that Nick Lidstrom was. Seider gets himself into too many scuffles, instead of taking slapshots from the point or just inside the blur line. When will this guy ever take a slap shot? Lidstrom had a patented slapshot as a defenseman. Why doesn't Seider use that skill? Hard to believe that Seider was that good in the Swedish league before the Wings drafted him. He doesn't really look as impressive. He passes the puck too much instead of taking a shot when he's open. He's too timid to take the shot, yet he doesn't hesitate to get into a scuffle or fight. Like I said, i think Seider is overrated as a player. Hope I'm wrong, but i don't think Seider is the kind of player who will help the Wings stay in contention. And not only Seider, the head coach (Lalonde) is not head coaching material anyway. Here's a guy who continues telling the press that the Wings "have a long way to go." The Wings organization doesn't need somebody with this bad of an attitude in front of the press. Lalonde is nowhere near the caliber of a Scottie Bowman. Wings need to nix Lalonde ASAP and either get a coach who knows how to win in the big leagues, or build a coaching staff with 2 or 3 of the Red Wing greats from their Stanley Cup years. Names which come to mind are Sergei (Fedorov), Shanahan, Brown, Murphy, Larionov, Lapointe, Zetterburg, Datzyuk, and I'm sure you can add a few more Red Wing greats to that list.

  6. Tale of two halves, Ottawa was great until 10 mins into the second and then it was all Detroit….and 3rd period was even.

  7. Legorocks99 is right on with his criticism of this Wings roster. It's hard to be patient when the Wings did so well in the beginning and just began looking like a totally different team after that stretch of wins.

  8. Reimer looked like he was playing like a 90s goalie just jumping when ever there’s a shot

  9. The Wings didn't show up in the first period and ended up spotting the Sens a four goal lead. It's disappointing, but it's a pattern this season.
