Uh…what? I still can't believe how much Leafs fans overvalue their players.
Why is this a question and what does this have to do with anything? Also anyone with a brain knows the answer to this question.
If you come here to complain about it being a bunch of Leafs videos all the time:
1. Don't watch let alone click on the video.
2. This is Toronto based so there will be majority Leafs news.
3. The Leafs are one of the most loved teams in the NHL so people want to see news on their team. (Most loved but also most hated)

The easy answer is Vasilevskiy but you also have to think Freddy is only paid 5m compared to 9.5m for Vasilevskiy. You could have Freddy and a high quality back up for 2 or 3 million and still be cheaper

Dumb question…it's like asking would you prefer Keith Primeau or Wayne Primeau ? Really ? Still…Andersen is underrated because of the atrocious defensive of the leafs…his back is dead carrying that weak defense…after Reily and now Barrie, it's not cup contender worthy…good luck…loll

Vasilevski who is 6 years younger is clearly on the upswing. .917, .920, .925 save percentages improving the last 3 years vs anderson who .918, .918, .917 has clearly established his career norm. The only question is who do you want at there base pay for this season, and vasilevski is still at 3.45 mill, while anderson has 2 more years at 5 mill. To me, id take anderson in 2020/2021 over 9.5 for vasilevski, but in 2 seasons when Anderson is 31/32 and looking to get paid, this stop being even a close comparison.

Is this Toronto's idea of a joke? Freddy Andersen is solid if overrated, but Vasilevskiy just won the Vezina and isn't gonna slow down any time soon. Why anyone would not choose Vasilevskiy of the two is beyond me.
I am a big Leafs fan but I am not a big fan of Andersen, and Vasilevsky doesn't impress me that much either, even though he is clearly the better goalie of the two. Right now, I would say the best young future star goalies in the NHL are Jordan Binnington (Blues), Carter Hart (Flyers), Mackenzie Blackwood (Devils), and Alexander Georgiev (Rangers), who I like the best of all. Any one of these goalies can help the Leafs should they by some miracle become available once Andersen's bloated contract is up. ($5 million a year for 5 years with 2 years to go.)
Price is still the best.
Anderson hands down for me
The issue with Anderson isn't his stats its the saves and when he makes them. He never seems to make a save when you need him to. Vasilevskiy finds a way to make a save at times when you need him to
As a goalie who actually played Jr..not like these donkeys on here ..freddy is better ..also very good puck handler ..very athletic..hes 6ft3 240 ..his movement in the crease is unreal..the mans unreal
