Time has absolutely flown by over the years and just like that, we’re now looking at a 36 year old Sidney Crosby. But the man is defying Father Time and he decided to put an exclamation mark on that last night as the Pittsburgh Penguins took on the Columbus Blue Jackets. Already on a 4 game scoring streak and an 8 game points streak coming into the game, he continued showing the NHL and hockey world that he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. He had himself a 4 point night scoring a Hat trick that put him on pace for 59 goals and 111 points for the season again, at 36 years old. Insane! I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

Lemieux had 40 career hat tricks
Jagr 15 (9 with Penguins)
Crosby 13
Malkin 13
Imagine a 37 year old Connor Bedard
Sick just sick. Amazing talent.
No signs of slowing down for the ole GOAT, such a blessing to have this guy on my team and watch him drop jaws over the past two decades. Geno having a hell of a season too, playing with a passion you rarely see out of 37-year-olds in this league. We truly are blessed in the burgh, hoping we keep it rolling and find ourselves in a playoff spot come Spring #LGP
13th hattrick
He is no doubt a well-deserving future HOFer as a generational phenom. Still doesn't change the fact that he's a prima donna and a whiny, bottle-throwing little bitch when he doesn't get his way, and far too often faces no consequences for those antics to the point it feels like darling favoritism on a grand stage…like a SCF. Winning a draft lottery after a lockout season to snag him while drafting a Malkin and Fleury in back-to-back years really does catapult a team to victory, huh? Who knew. Meanwhile, in Chicago, two lottery darlings have and are setting that franchise up for more of the same. 🙄
We take advantage when watching him I feel like sometimes, we're spoiled with Sid. It's crazy how fast time flies , I love living in Pittsburgh and going to watch him. You don't know what u got til it's gone, he can play another 5+ years easily.
It's crazy to think I played Sid in a tournament as a kid and now how long he's been in the NHL, time flies… but his consistency stays in tact
pretty sure Sid can do 90 with Karlsson now by his side
I hope it's leading somewhere this year
As a pens fan I am definitely blessed to say I grew up watching Sidney Crosby. I know I will never witness a player as great as him for the rest of my lifetime. Truly is amazing. Especially watching him lead the team to 3 cups
Sid does it all 5v5 as well. Since last season, he's tied for 6th in the league for even strength points but 50th for power play points. Only thing stopping him from some serious numbers.
I'm too old for this generation of hockey, all my idols are long since retired. I'm 42 😆
Pretty sweet to see the old guard with Karlsson in the mix. We'll be watching the Pens no matter what team we cheer on the most.
Karlsson will boost Crosby's production.
Crosby can still play well at age 45 like Selänne did, or Chara.. Chelios,Orr,etc…
I hope he can play 70+ games this year, it’s good for the game to have some vets on the ice playing like all stars
Man we have been so blessed with superstars. Mario, Jagr, Crosby, Malkin. Just crazy. It will also be a sad day when Crosby, Ovi, Geno all retire.
Sid works to hard, probably one of the hardest working players in the history of the league, that is why he can still shine at his age.
It’s weird hearing Sid the kid referred to as an old man
Kid Canada. Fire Gary Bettman! Tax haven American cities should have to pay Canadian teams or expanded payrolls for Canadian teams. SHAME ON THE NHL! 🇨🇦
bro, i enjoy the videos, but 36 isnt an old man, at all, i grew up on 30 something year olds gretzky, messier, prongor, madono, salanne, karyia, you name it all legends, nobody called the actual skilled part of statistic's 30+ are the elite of the NHL, good video in general tho. just have some respect on the old man stuff! and u cool!
It's not even mentioned in the video, he has a 62% face off win percentage too….eewwwwwwww
penguins won’t have a core like this ever again. it’s really special.
Kanes was better imo
missing bergy
When you sat "witnessing history" are you referring to 3 Canucks being tied for the league lead in points?
From Syd the Kid to Syd the Papa it seems.
I've been playing hockey for 45 years, from ankle burner to pro (for a very short time mind you) and I can say without doubt that my best years were 36-42. My recovery period was still short enough to compete, I began to see patterns in attack/defense that I did not see before and I could anticipate plays.
That being said, I can still see 1.5 seconds into the future, it's just now I am powerless to do much about it. 😉
Cassandra complex, only it's hockey.
2010 Winter Olympics ; the roar heard around Canada
This is BS out of the last 5 teams they played they have only faced 1 worthy opponent. LA. The rest were trash. Crosby never became what they said he would, breaking all of gretzkys records….because it was hype to save the Pens from moving.
Bro still can’t grow a beard lol
As a 34 year Pens fan I've seen Mario, Crosby, Jagr, Malkin, Coffey, Francis, Murphy, Fleury, Barrasso, Letang, Mullen, Tocchet, Stevens, Trottier, Robitaille, Recchi, Gonchar, Kovalev (insanely talented and fun to watch), (Straka, Lang too) and short stints of guys like Hossa, Iginla, Leclair, Palffy, and now i get to watch Karlsson too.
5 Cups too.
We're very fortunate as Pens fans!!
If I hear one more interview talking about his age, I'm gonna lose it.
Love seeing the last hurrahs
With the living styles, personal chefs, exercise knowledge, health monitoring, and just plain old taking care of oneself – I refuse to call any of these professional athletes "old" until they're hitting about 40. These guys can be in excellent health until then – especially the ones like Crosby (and Brady), who are generational talents. Even if their game slips a little bit, they're still in the upper tier of performers in their respective sport.
The reasoning for why I think Crosby is the best player to ever play the game (besides Gretz), is because he is able to stay consistent at such a high age. No way McDavid will be able to speed by an entire team and undress them once he's mid 30's. Matthews might be able to still score at that age because he is a Sniper like Ovi, but Crosby's game is all IQ and edge-work. The Tom Brady of Hockey.
Tom Brady of the NHL right now
I don't know why I didn't like Crosby growing up, but if you grew up in that era, you'll either completely disagree or relate with me.
I feel like the Crosby vs Ovechkin debate played into the same phenomenon as the Xbox vs Playstation debate, and any young hockey fan at that time had to pick one of the two draft favorites.
I coincidentally share the same birthday as Ovechkin, so for me, I followed and loved Ovi since day one, yet also had a completely irrational dislike for Crosby.
I grew up in Vancouver, and the 2010 Olympics entirely changed my life. Not only for the entirety of the Olympics happening in my home city, but for the predominant memory of Crosby scoring that integral OT goal for our country.
I legitimately remember the meaning behind the sport of hockey transcending what it meant to support your favorite player, or your home team, and in that moment understanding how incredible Sidney Crosby truly was.
Ever since then, I not only respected Crosby, but I respected the entire sport as a whole so much more.
I feel grateful being able to watch Crosby and Ovi on their way out, in the meantime while Crosby plays incredibly and Ovi – Unfortunately looking like a shell of his former self – still has a chance to be the greatest goal scorer of all time.
Damn I miss my 30s. Best decade by far.
