Montreal canadiens can and will indeed score.
I'm a big believer that it starts from the net and it works its way out.
We saw that with Price giving confidence to the rest of the team.
They'll get there- and we will all regret chirping them when they were down at the bottom
This unit, Sean Monahan completed by Tanner Pearson and Brendan Gallagher, is the only one that has remained virtually unchanged: the three veterans have been paired together in 15 of the 16 games so far. During first 10 meetings, the magic worked. Over the last six… it was less like that. . During these last six games, which began with a loss against the St. Louis Blues, this trio scored one goal at five against five, but found themselves on the ice for seven goals from the opponent. The combination is also deficient in terms of shots on goal, scoring chances and expected goals. A trend opposite to the first ten.
Anderson is the poster child for the Canadiens’ inability to score. Lack of quickness or rapid fire is the issue. Firing the puck on net as it comes to the stick.
The second best shooter on the Habs, prospect Jesse Ylonen, still does not get powerplay time, as a matter of fact, he mostly sits in the stands eating popcorn. Fourth line finishes the period with a flurry of chances. RHP-Evans-Ylonen has a little bit of everything, speed, 200 ft players, and provide the Habs with incredible depth as they can all defend well and have the ability to add a bit of offense when they get the opportunity. That is a solid fourth line. . but their TOI is terrible
The Canadiens had the league's top 5-on-5 GF% in the NHL during October. Montreal has just nine goals at 5-on-5 in seven games in the month of November. GF% of 36.36% which is 30th in the NHL. . They have seven PP goals during this time (Three way tie for second in the NHL). I never thought I'd say this but the PP is carrying the offense right now. Quite the shift. Not entirely sure what happened. .
The fourth line was Montreal's best line against Calgary in my opinion but were not rewarded with increased TOI in third.
Thanks Coach, Enortap and Marko for the show.. Cheers
