  1. The only people I’ve seen enough of are Jarmo and JD. It’s time for a FO change, but this team isn’t as bad as the record shows. It’s sloppily adjusting to a new system with a new coach, all while being one of the youngest teams in the league, with a significant portion of the roster coming off injuries this year (Laine) or last (Werenski, Chinakhov, etc).

We’re less than 20 games in with a coach that got the short end of the stick, and a huge part of the roster is teenagers, new additions, or recovering injuries. Let them take their lumps this year, see where we are in February/March, and make some decisions from there for next year.

There’s no need to blow it up or panic. The team is competing, more than last year. There’s just an u godly amount of growing pains coupled with bad luck.

  2. They don't have a coach that's ready to be a head coach all the good coaches are taking poor decisions by there GM

  3. Great video THG! 👌 I'd however like to suggest not to use red marker – it makes reading the txt really difficult as it lacks contrast.

  4. I think Kekäläinen's plan is/was to be able to seduce some of the more tallented centers in for Gaudreau and Laine but it has not worked out. Jenner is clearly underrated and very hard working but he is ideally middle 6.

  5. 18.45M for two guys with 3 goals combined. We got league minimum guys outscoring them single handedly.

  6. This is why I wanted Babs to succeed. The current no-name is just another softie who's more like a friend than a coach. Letting Laine think he's a center after playing all his career as winger is just one example of zero authority over his players.

  7. LOL, Johnny hockey, became Johnny no playoff hockey, is now Johnny useless at hockey..

  8. Dysfunctional organization. Gaudreau has 1 point and they throw a Johnny Gaudreau bobblehead night. Are you kidding me?

  9. I posted this to Twitter/X/whatever after the last game: Bag skate. Fuck the NHLPA and the CBA. Bag skate. To paraphrase Herb Brooks, they don’t want to work hard during the game, fine. They can work hard now. I’m not kidding, I want to see guys puking their guts out on the ice. Make Jarmo join them for all I care.

  10. Justin Danforth is my favourite NHL player but your team has a problem if he has more points than Johnny Gaudreau.

  11. i think the Huberdeau and Gaudreau trade would work better if another team gets in on the trade (i think Minnesota)

  12. Jarmo looked at the Jim Benning model of re tooling rather than truly re building, and decided that was the way to go. You lay it out pretty well here THG, the more Columbus has added the last 2 years, the worse they have got. Before you can build the second floor on your house, the foundation has to be solidly in place.

  13. As a Jets fan, I can honestly say Laine is a goal scoring beast, and a better than average 200 foot game, when he is invested and applies himself. He also needs line mates with high skill set, equally invested.

  14. Columbus is one of the teams where you must raise your eyebrows if they dont make 1-2 moves until deadline day.

I hope Provy gets moved to an actually good team, he deserves better.

  15. Sad for the Fans, they are really supportive of the Team. Hope they can turn it around for the cisty oc Columbus and their fans

  16. The fantilli, marchenko, and voronkov line has been the most consistent offensive threat this year. They actually look good and should stick together throughout the year and beyond to maintain chemistry in seasons moving forward. Johnny is a huge problem. Looks ike hes playing without much confidence, or compete level. At this stage they should healthy scratch him a game or two, it cant hurt the outcomes of the games.

Worst roster move jarmo made was shipping out bjorkstand for peanuts last year, instead of moving nyguist who had the same cap hit and was a ufa after that year. Getting "the best" return which was a 3rd &4th rounds picks instead of say at 5th (which they got laterfor gus) wasnt looking longer term for your team to compete.

They have the young talent to be competitive, but some of the stars are not being stars.
Laine's contract seems movable if he can start producing teams would be interested. Johnnys isnt unless its like a deal mentioned for huberdeau or someone else not playing to their 10mil contact.

  17. The Blue Jackets are completely lost as far as who they are and what they want to be. They have some talent but no identity whatsoever, and they don't know how to win close games.

  18. I was never too impressed with Gaudreau. He was not nearly consistent enough in Calgary and I thought it was pretty obvious he was escaping the heat of accountability by signing in Columbus.

  19. Yea the youth in cbj is much deeper too than Shannon listed here. Jordan Dumais is gonna be a NHLer in some form. Luca Del Bel Beluz looks really good in the AHL so far this year. The jackets need some accountability. I think it comes with fantilis growth. Jenner werenski guadreau and laine are quiet leaders. The jackets need some more accountability from their best players. Guys who drag the rest of the team into it. Laine and guadreau shrink when the game gets tough it’s a massive part of the reason we can’t win any games

  20. On paper they have a very interesting roster, but this year it's things not clicking, Laine being out for weeks after Anderson rammed him , Gaudreau forgetting he has talent and Vincent's neurotic line shuffling also the fact he honestly thought Bemstrom and Texier had talent to play with Fantilli. When it all adds up it's the perfect trainwreck in slow motion and as a cbj fan it's more frustrating than last year given the talent on board this time around.

  21. Honestly they shouldve fired Kek a long time ago. He's completely failed to build a team
