I would love for Locked on Kraken to do a crossover with Emerald City Hockey at some point. Also, can I just say how impressed I’ve been with Ty Nelson, who could be a real steal for the Kraken. So he isn’t 6’3”, but what he is, is a rugged, speedy right shot defender with omnidirectional agility and a contagiously positive personality. If Nelson keeps developing he would fill a real need for the Kraken a couple years from now, so I am really rooting for this kid – not just for the Kraken’s sake but also to help prove that you don’t need to be over 6 feet to be a capable NHL defender.
Regarding Ryan Donato, I sort of still can’t believe they actually let him go. It’s tough to watch a player give his all for an organization, providing hope in the form of timely goals during times of the season where sparks of life were few and far between – only to be sent packing in the summer. That said, we will see how Francis fills the Donato sized hole left in the roster.
