Clean hit. Bedard turned right at the last moment as Kulikov was already committed.
I am a blood red hawks fan and that is a clean hit. Heads up hockey. Bedard wanted to cycle the puck back out of the zone and turned his back to the hit.
The elbow/shove into the numbers ISNT a hockey play.. not a dirty hit but in my opinion, an unnecessary hit. if you are gonna hit bedard, hit him in open ice or hit him face to face. this is rather tactless.
Bedard is so quick on his skates that a legal hit became a hit to the back in one motion. Bedards skates face the boards by the time contact is made. He should have protected himself. Others would right after.
Mr. Bedard is smallish by NHL standards that can magnify hits since his head is lower than most. The hit wasn't vicious, there's no attempt to injure as far as I can see. It isn't a cross check and it isn't boarding or charging either. Looks like a solid NHL check to me.
Contact is on the side of Bedard, but positioning on Bedard's skates is why he went face first into the boards. Not really much to be done there from Kulikov imo.

Looks like a guy who didn’t brace for contact to me. A hockey play like you say

Just like every other hit in the nhl. These hits happen every night.

The hit was fine until that last seconde shove on his back is considered boarding.

Bedard didn't brace himself for the hit. It was a good wakeup call for him, he'll prbably be more careful in the future
"this is boxing" kind of situation
