This is the Dahlin we need. If he is going to be given the big bucks I want to see these maniac performances on a regular basis.
They are in trouble and they know it. Yes, a win is a win but they got outplayed by the hawks. Badly.
I like the Stampeders, and Expos. I thought UPL was solid. I didn't think Buffalo played very well tbh but we will take it. I thought Joki was gonna get another own goal. Mitts, Greenway, Benson, Peterka and of course Dahlin all had good games. Overall I think most of the team is down on confidence. They have dumped the puck out of the zone not looking for the open guy instead. There were a few times our guys could have made a play out of the zone but turned it into an icing.

I’ll take the win. With 20% of the season gone, we need to stay close to .500. At this point we need to win 37 games to equal last year’s record. I’m happy if we’re competitive every night and find our footing as a group.
I know we pay him the big money now so we should expect more, but I feel like Power is a victim of his own success. If you look at where he is at and see where Dahlin and others were at, at the same point in their development, I think in a few years we won't be worried about Power and his progress. I don't see nearly as many giveaways and screw ups from Power as I did from our other young defensemen in the last few years(when they were at his experience level). I honestly think Power should be playing with Erik Johnson for his development and so Erik can cover for him a bit in defense, but I understand having Jokiharju and Clifton as a pair would not be very viable.

Another point and 2 great point blank shots by Benson almost resulting in goals. On top of great puck possesion and drawing a penalty. One game left to decide if he stays or goes back to juniors. I believe he’s shown he deserves to be here more than some of the veterans, but we’ll have to wait and see what the Sabres decide.

Power kills me almost every night . Kid cant Turn his body fast enough whenever he has to turn from backskating. Kid doesnt have a Slap shot still. I know its his Sophmore year but…. Idk how long i can deal with him. Oh wayne i am Niners and a Bills fan cool to know u like San Fran. Been a fan since i was a kid in the 90s with Steve Young.

Another ugly win. Not very impressive besides a few standouts from UPL, Mitts and of course Dahlin. Otherwise a lackluster showing against an inferior team on the second night of a back to back. The Sabres can be so much better! We have seen it…
Also Benson needs to stay, burning a year be damned. He belongs and we need his talents and hustle.

Nice win by the Sabres tonight. Run with UPL now as hes looked good the last few games. Benson needs to stay up with the team even if they sign Kane . Get rid of Olofsson or Bryson if they bring him in. I have absolutely no interest in the other Patrick available , Patrick Laine!!

Peterka 12 points in last 11 games most on the team in that stretch…amazing how if you are playing more and not on the bench you can score if you are talented! It’s about time the coach let him play more than 10-13 minutes although this game he only played 14.
Cozens really isn't recovered from that fight it seems. That full shield doesn't help! Time will help for sure. Watch Casey away from the play, he is always moving, always creating, always scrapping and making plays. Power definately looked lost! Agree!!
100% about Cozens. Wayne is right… something just does not seem right with him. I’m hoping when Quinn, Peterka and Cozens are back together they find that chemistry. Still… he shouldn’t have to wait for his “full line” to be playing well. Big game in D.C. coming up! They’re 9-4-2 – incredible after their poor start.

Perfect tip for Chicago's first goal was just an outstanding play. The only blemishes in this game was the terrible rebound by UPL on the 2nd Chicago goal and Samuelsson losing where it was, and nearly allowing Chicago to tie it with just seconds left. The post came up big there to keep the puck out lol. Need to go steal a game in Washington against a red-hot Capitals team.
They are slowly improving. & when they have before it seemed to pick up the play of those who were struggling most .. Thanks Wayne

Good win, but… Sorry to keep harping on team defense. In each game, UPL was the No. 1 star for us. I see the opposition regularly set up in our defensive zone. I do not see the Sabres set up enough in the offensive zone. We're still throwing passes to no one, we're doing a dump and chase when we could just as easily skate the puck in. Too many times, we've got only one or two guys trying to penetrate because we're changing lines. Wouldn't it be better to pull the puck back to our zone and get the change done and attack in strength?
Really had to win this one, really glad they did, but that game looked like two bad teams playing each other. They have to be better.
