   Hughes is the heart and soul of this Canucks franchise. Hope he retires a Canuck and in the process convinces any siblings he has to join the Canucks.

   Quinn Hughes is the first player in the league to reach the 30 point mark. That last time this was achieved by a defensemen was Bobby Orr in 1974-75

   He became my favorite player during his draft year. I couldn’t f****in believe the Canucks got to draft him. I was speechless. I expected him to maybe be a 60-pointer type of guy, weak on D, not have a letter on his jersey due to his, at the time, monotone / deadpan demeanor. And I was cool with all that. It was his completely unique and mysterious playing style that drew me in. But to see him now as a badass superstar captain just smoking 🚬 top line NHLers night in and night out, making a case for not only a Norris, but a Hart trophy? Wow. F***ing wow. Can’t lose with Hughes. He deserves all of it and this city is beyond lucky to have him.

    For context, someone pointed out that we’ve only had two defencemen this past decade put up 30+ points in an entire SEASON (Garrison and Edler).

    Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect wed get a dman as good as Hughes. To be honest before Hughes and Makar I didnt even know dman this good still existed lol
