  1. Props to Carolina for absolutely fleecing mn of Nino for Rask. Makes me wonder if that gm was a secret saboteur sent to mn to make the worst trades in the history of that franchise.

  2. Hey Hockey Guy! I love watching your Videos. Your knowledge is amazing and the format with the whiteboard works very well. Thanks a lot!

When you talked about Nino Niederreiter I was just wondering, sometimes it's maybe not only the point production that makes a player valuable for a team but also other aspects of his game on and off the ice. With Nino for example it could be his net front present, that might not give him much points but always draws defenders and therefore creates more space for his teammates to score. Or maybe a player is also great for the team because of his high spirit like for example Nate Schmidt with the Canucks. Just some thoughts

  3. Niederreiter was my favourite player on the Swiss National teams that got silver in 2013 and 2018, usually one of the best on the Swiss roster. Really happy to see him hit this milestone 🙂

  4. Not even close to the worst trade Minnesota has made and he was doing zero in Minnesota the last year and a half he was there. I was more than happy to see him unloaded.

  5. I remember his very impressive World Junior performance. Kinda reminds me of Tim Stutzle, where a quality player could carry a team further than it usually goes.
Around the same time as Benjamin Conz.

  6. Very good summation of Nino! Next time suggest you wear the black Canes jersey. That one rocks!

  7. has one of my favourite overtime winners (against colorado game 7) what a snipe

  8. Nino is either pretty useless or arguably the best player on the team. Either way I’m happy to have in Carolina!

  9. solid one point every other game player. good for top lines but perfect for 3rd line/bottom line scoring.

  10. I love Nino, ever since I saw him in the world juniors. I was so disappointed when the Islanders drafted him, super happy he's playing well this year. The Swiss Missle

  11. I have a sneaking feeling Bruce Boudreau was one that graded Tuck as "not all that" too……….you know Chuck Fletcher had to have asked him to weigh in during the expansion draft strategy meetings.

  12. Awesome job on the career thus far of Nino. In Carolina we love him and his game. At times when he has had a drought you can see where he is in the verge of breaking out. Hope he continues at the pace he is see starting this year.

  13. so happy for Nino. was my favourite player since entering the league and was the happiest day of my life when the Canes grabbed him lol what a stud

  14. Us MN fans were heartbroken when he was traded. He brought so much energy to the team whether he was scoring a lot or not. We want him back 🙁

  15. Like with staunch critics' and avid supporters' opinions on many players, coaches, GMs, etc. the truth is probably somewhere in between.

  16. Net do a video on The tale of two Sebastian Aho's. one plays for the Hurricanes and one for the Islanders.

  17. Shannon left out every important detail about Nino's career with NYI. We (NYI) stupidly put him on the 4th line for his whole rookie season. Stupid. Of course he's not going to blossom into a scorer on that checking line. So we finally acknowledge that we've been doing a poor job developing him and send him to the AHL the next season to do just that. And then he and his agent whined about not being in the NHL and publicly demanded a trade, hence why we ended up shipping him to Minnesota.

  18. Nino, at his worst, is basically a .5 PPG player. Excellent backchecker, excellent heavy player who wins puck battles and works his butt off. Perfect middle 6er who can move up in the lineup and give you some legit goal scoring ability. I have not one single bad thing to say about him. People don't realize it, but last year he was hurt most of the season and his scoring dropped off but I think he should be a 20-20-40 type of guy.
