  1. Always remember to look at the bright side of things.. I know it sucks to see the injuries pile up just like last season, however… I am excited to see both Struble AND Norlinder get some NHL action.
    Cheers.

  2. you'd think they would go into a little more details about "significant" injuries seeing as we ain't making a playoff run. "lower body injury" works when you are trying to keep the other team guessing, but unless this years race to the bottom really heats up…

  3. I mean, dropping off the cliff probably best for you guys. Get that high draft pick and hopefully just allow suzuki and caufield to put up points while it all falls apart. Coukd probably get a haul for Matheson too if management wants. What a great trade that ended up being

  4. Saw you mentioned on reddit b'y. Keep it up and you'll end up on sportsnet. Maybe tell a goaltender to tend to goal.

  5. We can DEFINITELY use Struble's toughness. I knew Xhekaj's injury was worse than they are letting on, everyone was like, no it says day to day, it'll just be a game or two. That's what they ALWAYS say, day to day. I wont be surprised to hear after this road trip, that Xhekaj will be back in like another 2 weeks, after the road trip. Nothing other than watching the injury and how they're handling it, gives me the impression that it's worse then they are saying, plus just our past history.

  6. In my 50 years on this planet, I have honestly never seen an injury plagued team like the Canadiens over the past few seasons. There are no such things as curses. They're either simply made of glass or there's problem with the conditioning. It's disappointing and difficult to create line chemistry when always having to refer to Laval for back up.

  7. Mailloux has been very sloppy defensively in Laval so many people were right he is not yet ready.Struble is actually a bit more ready defensively as is Trudeau.
As for injuries it realy doesn't make a difference to the team because mTL is truly a bottom 5 team injuries or injuries nothing changes that.
I keep hearing people say "give it time"one problem all the other teams are also getting better so TIME does not work in your favor. The only time it matters is if you get a super star then things change real quick.
I mentioned last year th eFlyers were missing their best two player AL YEAR and still managed to beat the Habs and are as i stated moving ahead quicker than the Habs.even though having lost several of it's top end players over the years Like Giroux now in Ottawa.Something I think people don't understand about a rebuild and not needing a superstar is that THOSE teams like Vegas got to pick from the entire NHL's teams and the protection list wasn't that big so they had access to a LOT of proven NHL players. The Habs are building from the draft and giving away first round draft picks for second/3rd line players like Dach and Newhook is NOT doing it the right way.Picking a defenseman in th edraft when you need about 10 forwards is NOT drafting smart so imo nothing is headed in the right direction this team will NEVER get there at this rate.

  8. Ehhh RHP, Harris, and Xhekaj were no world beaters this season so no big deal. As long as Slaf, Suzuki, Guhle, Barron, Caufield, and Monahan stay healthy idgaf about the rest. A top 5 pick would be crazy, might give finally bring us a ppg player.

  9. no worries . The kids on the farm will be given the opportunity to show what they are made of on the primetime ice in Montreal . Who cares if the Montreal Canadiens become the Laval Canadiens . The Rebuild will continue at least till next season and another primetime top 5 draft pick i wouldn't be complaining in the 2024 draft . Lets really start the show next year . And who knows if Kent is going to go after either Petterson from Vancouver which i lean more too , due to his age . And Drizzy from Edmonton , which would be nice but might not be what this team needs for the long hull .

  10. Ya…
    Monahan on the 3rd line…
    Slavkosky on the second…
We need a coaching change asap.
    I'd interview Bob Hartley.

  11. I had high expectations but the injuries have tempered them somewhat. I'm very disappointed in the performance of someone wearing #17. I loved his speed, agression, wllingness to drop the gloves AND score goals. Where did it all go? I love Gallagher but he's a liability now. No matter what the GM or Marty says, they are RUINING Slafkovsky. He could/should lose 15 lbs and get some quickness in his feet/game. But he absolutely needs to go to Laval work on the skills he has but can't or won't use in the NHL: carry the puck, get creative and make plays, lead a rush, be up with the play, get some shots (averaging 1/gm is NOT development) use his size, win puck battles! For those who think it's working, see how many times he does the things I mentioned. He's losing his onfidence and I see it when he fumbles the ouck because he's unsure! What do they have to lose by sending him to Laval…the only thing I can think of is if he fails there, it exposes their chose of for First Overall as a mistake and missed opportunity. I do not even see signs anymore he'll work out. The Team this year is a wash. Let's see what the Brass does next. Picking up Draisitl is a mistake…go with YOUTH, SPEED, COURAGE. If you can skate you can pla6 with and against anyone! It's time to bring Firewagon Hockey back to Montreal!

  12. Let’s summarize : we got

Dach – done for the season
    Wideman – who ? Where ? Still here ?
Savard – out for at least 2 months
RHP – out for 6-8 weeks
    Harris – out indefinitely
    Xhekaj – don’t know
Price – retired, not retired, i want my checks yesterday
    Dvorak – was on ´LTIR’
Guhle – was out a couple weeks

    That’s 20 games in.

Also let’s not kid ourselves, other players are playing injured already, this is hockey after all and with the historic of the last couple seasons in that department this is only beginning, enjoy the Doc Tank.

  13. Bring on the tanks: we need a Lidstrom. Mailloux is not ready; he needs to play and learn(so in the almost league)
Remember suspension & Covid = he didn't play much.
    AHL is
    Almost ready &
    Almost good enough

  14. This is what happens when you acquire players at a “value” because they’re considered injury prone…

  15. I hope we can find takers for

    Savard
    Dvorak
    Allen

A big return for Monaghan is totally possible at this point.

I’d move Anderson too but his value is at an all time low atm

Stay the course and continue the rebuild

  16. Most injured AND most penalized? Definitely a threepeat 😆 although we were most punished all season last year, just for like, the first 71games

  17. The Habty Dumptys were playing well,
The Habty Dumptys had a great fall, (Again!)
All Kent Hughes's horses and all Jeff Gorton's men
Couldn't put Habpty together again…. sadly

  18. Excited to see Struble. Plays a solid physical game. The kids will get their turn. Would love to see Celibrini drafted by the Habs. He already has great chemistry with Hutson. I know I’m dreaming….
