    Defense is my concern, no matter who is in goal. A soft goal against teams does not solve the problem of opposition left out in front of the goal. Nor does it solve sloppy play in your own end.

    Is the team feeling effects of the 'bug' that is going around? People in lower Michigan are feeling respiratory problems, could the Wings be going thru this also?

    Maybe treat the goalies like a pitching rotation. Husso gets 2 straight starts the Riemer get 1 them Lyon, the Husso back to 2,…….

    I don’t think Husso is the main issue. I was at the game live against the Rangers, I was cheering for New York but I have a ton of respect for the Red Wings, and the main issue was Rangers defense was impenetrable for 2 periods, Wings passing and puck control was unbelievably sloppy, and just poor defense on the Wings side in 2 periods. If they can figure out how to have that 3rd period energy early in the game, they’ll be much better off.

    Keep starting flat. Someone’s gonna have to drop the gloves every puck drop to start the game if they can’t get themselves going.

    Solution is the same as it always was: Ras to line 1, Cat to RW, Copp/JT/Rayzor, Perron/Veleno/Sprong. Right now it's lines brought to you by the Department of Redundancy Department, L1 is all high ceiling young skill with little forecheck, L2 is all crafty veteran with high floor but already hitting the ceiling. Ras needs more minutes not less, plus he gives an early forecheck that they seem to be missing. Even though they struggle early in games, they seem like a team that can win in a seven game series, hopefully they can grab enough regular season points to have that chance.

    Some coaches are great at getting their teams to over perform. Paul Maurice is one of those guys, Jim Leyland was one of those guys (baseball example). Is Lalonde one of those guys? Or he just a talent management and training coach? The Wings rollercoaster emotional play tells me he may not be the best motivator or inspirational coach. Thoughts?
