Per Yahoo Sports: Makar was suspended one game for interference on Tuesday for a late hit on Kraken forward Jared McCann in Game 4 after the puck went out of play on an Avalanche power play. After officials reviewed the major, it was controversially downgraded to a minor penalty.

Way too soft. One of the more blatantly dirty late hits in recent memory. Star treatment by definition
He should be gone for a lot longer than 1 freaking game. But if he weren't a "Top Canadian player" then Toronto would have thrown the book at him. 5 minute major, game misconduct with intent to injure cause it was WELL AFTER THE WHISTLE, suspension for 2 or more games, and a 20k fine. That's what Oleksiak got for a hit in a game earlier this year the player didn't get hurt, the guy had the puck, shoulder to shoulder hit, and the whistle hasn't been blown yet. PLAY FAIR TORONTO YOU ARE TRYING TO SCREW SEATTLE LIKE ALL OTHER SPORTS OFFICIALS
Maybe my video and audio are not in sync. But to me the hit happened BEFORE…. BEFORE THE WHISTLE!! Makar had a WTF moment. He was playing until the whistle blew. Look at the hit Kadri took from E.Kane last year. He only got 1 game. And that GOON has a history of this type of "play". This is not what Makar is about. Playing a sport all your life you play until the whistle blows. The ref definitely did not blow the whistle soon enough. Watch and LISTEN to this video. You will see.
