With all the hate we spew at the linesman sometimes this deserves major praise, good job sir! Your awesome

The NHL is going to have someone do that and get seriously injured or killed, and only then will they ban fighting.
iamsdc1969
That could have been very bad. Good on the linesman for his awareness and fast reflexes.

W ref man.

This better be all over highlights on all networks, ref is a hero here. Well done 👏👏👏

Not often the linesman has the save of the year

Looks like the quick thinking linesman is Tyson Baker. Major props to the guy.

Gilbert owes that man a dinner.

Idk, slowing it down, I’m seeing his head still strike the ice first. Could be wrong, but that’s what I’m seeing.
Edit: I’m seeing his hand get under his head, but more inferior. Like the occipital region, and it looks like the head strikes the ice first in the parietal region.

Holy shit that is terrifyingly close
TYDY3TY
He’s a dad for sure
boverton24
Are they trained to look for that situation when helmets are off?
Ambitiousshank
Sure looks like his head bounced off the ice, hope not, but think the linesman got there a fraction of a second too late.

Fighting in hockey needs to be banned at this point
TiredReader87
What great effort and timing. Kudos.
JumboThornton
Amazing. Are they trained to watch for this?

Better than a couple Troy Polamalu interceptions I very specifically remember, and that dude is goat free safety.
Well. Done.
grainmademan
Great reflexes and all but I’d really like to see them stop fights when the lid comes off.
SosowacGuy
Fights in hockey is the dumbest thing in sports.. don’t change my mind.
ChiefWatchesYouPee
Why is fighting still allowed?
Only professional sport that allows this
Jazzar1n0
Give that guy a payrise

Dapper_Tackle_7745
Did he actually get his hand under in time though? The answer is no.
