In 8 years with McDavid we can’t make a bottom 6 forward group work….ever? Seriously why do we pay our scouting department? Everyone blames Holland, but do you all think he’s making these decisions on his own? Our scouting staff NEEDS a to be cleaned up as well as the goalie coach. I read somewhere that he’s Katz’s nieces husband? Is that true? This is just stupid now, people just standing around. Why do we want to pay Bouchard even more money than he’s making? McLeod deserve this raise? Ryan, Janmark being resigned? So many mistakes this past summer. We could have kept Kostin if we did something better this summer with the money. Connor Brown 4 million dollars? He doesn’t even look involved ever!
Play with urgency one period out of every game. Play that way for three periods they'll win a lot of games. Improve the defense. Improve the goaltending. Not over yet. 4 1/2 months still to go.
Hey down there in New Zealand. A few months ago you didn't like my doubts about Vinnie's foot speed. Actually, I think he's doing okay. Certainly willing to mix it up. We could use a little more of that. By what method do you get the Oilers? Maybe one day the NHL will play a game in your city. Any hockey played down there? I know, gotta say it. Team name will be the Kiwis. Oiler fans all over the world unite!! I know a guy in Paraguay but can't get him interested in hockey. He prefers to ride his horse in the Chaco and go dancing with his wife.
Yes the refs sucked When this team plays desperate hockey they dominate play but unfortunately they don’t decide to play this way until the game is already over and unfortunately the season is now over.
Hey Patrick, it must be tough to keep up the enthusiasm to do these. We appreciate your efforts though dude, keep going. Good times pass but then so do the bad. It’s tough waking up to these results or worse, staying up until 3am watching (I’m in the UK) and seeing such inconsistent play. It’s good to listen to these each day so keep them coming 👍🏻

Stu stunk and got yanked with not even 20 minutes played. Pickard came in and did great (only let in 1 on all of the shots he'd faced but damage done on Stu's watch). McDavid won ONE faceoff all night. Thankfully Nuge and Leon made up for it but still it's like his reflexes are off. Coach Knoblauch went 11-7 and doesn't do it well. Offense playing defense was, what's worse that pitiful, oh I know, DEAD. They couldn't pick up an assignment if their lives depended on it. D didn't do any better. It took less than 5 minutes for Carolina to score 4 goals. The Oilers were still napping until Hyman got a PP goal (we haven't seen a PP goal in some time so yeah, lets cheer for that (sigh)).
I couldn't listen or watch the game or even catch highlights. Sorry folks but my medical reality strikes again. Hope there was something good that came out of this game because all I see is another Oilers loss and another game they have to make up to even see 500 again. Take care all
G'day Patrick…love your show. Maybe, perhaps, possibly the Good Ol' Boys Club of fathers, sons, brothers, friends and close associates isn't the right formula to build a winning Management Team. It's time some tough love and it needs to start now. How should these people be measured? It's seems to me it should the same metric used on the Coaches that come and go here. By the way how has the new one worked out? The previous coach WAS good enough, but GM's and the sons/brothers/friends in the Ivory Towers are not held accountable!! It's should be embarrassing that Holland has another Holland and Gretzky as AGM. It's the same for Jackson in his position…he's McDavid's Agent??? Is this a ploy to keep on or with the Franchise? And what is Nichol doing, what has he done? How are these people measured? I don't think they are! If the Owner was responsible, every year he would conduct an audit and evaluate what these people have done to make the Team better. This Organization has been rewa4ded OFTEN for their failure with high draft positions and what's become of it? They've squandered the time with the best hockey player I've ever seen. What have the Jacksons, Gretzkys, Hollands, Nicholson, Coffees etc accomplished? How "special" has the advice been from the Special Avisors? The Oilers currently sut 230th I a 32 Team League and sport a .306 winning percentage. This should be humiliating, should be unacceptable and drastic measures should be taken. Oiler fans should not put up with this Organization built on nepotism. From top to bottom is laughable.
Patrick, Oilers fam down here in Alabama, Nick Saban talks about Bama listening to all the Rat Poison. You think all the "cup or bust" and preseason talk has been rat poison? I watch every game, listen to Bob, you and Patrick and get fired up but puck drop begins the let down. I still feel the Oilers will go on a run. It's painful watching the looks on their faces. Last night in Carolina, they seemed slower. Carolina sticks were everywhere knocking pucks off our passes. Refs did try to even things in the 3rd, calling a few on the 'Canes. And as far as the need to bring in someone with leadership…..that can backfire as we have veterans with leadership. It would be a huge slap in the face to 99,29,91 and 93. I'd say briing in a goalie even if it means trading some big names. Hang in there. Go Oilers and Roll Tide
trying to muster an ounce of sympathy for the Oilers but then I am reminded of the overwhelming numbers of Oiler fans arrogance pre-season, commenting that the Flame's line-up should compete in the junior leagues, the AHL, or their sons' teams were greater than the Flames. Is anyone here capable of an honest discussion?? Can anyone give an honest answer why McD & Leon should stay in Edm for 1-2 more yrs?? This team never protects them. The risk of serious injury is all they have to look forward to.
The honest topic now is where will they choose to go this year. Has to be a team with deep goaltending because the Oilers will get one of them in a trade. Nashville?? Boston maybe?? And it has to be a team with a lot of young talent because they’ll have to give a lot of it up to get McD and/or Leon. Which team is deep in goaltending with plenty of youth & is ready to win now??
Every mistake and lazy back-check by Bouchard is not held to account. All the players except Ryan and Hyman are doing doing the same now. (cheating for offense). Please just start Pickard next game. Skinner is playing worse than Campbell.
They were "all over" a superior team that had a 5-1 lead. The Oilers are 0-10 against good teams this season. They're done. Beating up on the Kraken a couple games doesn't make the oilers non-garbage.
Not sure how you’re gonna do it, it would prolly take a 17 way trade amongst the league but trade the f outta nurse. Package him up with Bouchard and a top 6.

He’s like a Ghostisbehere. Great offensive D man but BRUTAL on D. Should be a 3rd pairing PP specialist and that’s it.

Draisaitl shows zero commitment to team defence. He was minus 4. He is a terrible leader. And so is McDavid.
