I’m honestly WORRIED about this

Bo Horvat returns to Vancouver for the first time since his trade to the New York Islanders earlier this year and I’m worried he might get boo’d by the crowd because of his interview at the end of last season.

  1. I think it's pathetic that professional sport fans are going apeshit over player saying something negative about their favourite team. It's just too easy to upset collective minded baboons. Good job Horvat for saying your opinion.

  2. Who cares what he said, it had to do with management not teammates or fans. Letā€™s not be petty. He was a loyal Canuck for 9 years and as captain he didnā€™t shy away from accountability during very low seasons. He deserves a warm welcome.

  3. The only regret is buying a Canuck jersey with his name on it. Beauvillier is only 5 points behind Horvat with a +6, whereas Horvat's a -1. Hopefully, we'll see Beauvillier put some more numbers up tonight & shutdown Horvat.

  4. honestly he can say whatever he wanted. But trying to damage control/walk it back/apologize for what he said is cringe and pathetic. I couldn't careless to cheering or booing, as I wont be doing either.

  5. He made a mistake for a moment after he left so i get the boos..but he deserves to be cheered for the years of solid service. More importantly the fans should rock the building when we score and shove it in his face that way to show him what its like to be in a winning environment in Vancouver..Go Canucks Go

  6. Eh not a fan of either his old or new team. That comment is not good to hear. You can always simply go with a positive note without ā€œcriticizingā€ your old situation. Whether thatā€™s business, dating, etc. Something as easy as ā€œI look forward to my future here with the great fanbase!ā€ ā€œIā€™m excited to have the opportunity to compete for the playoffs.ā€ I would think Islanders fans also hear his words as trying to suck up to them which could have them see him as thinking they are dumb. Whatever weā€™ll see how it goes.

  7. I ripped on Bo, because it presses a button of the rich upset guy living the dream of an NHL"er whining. He wanted to win here, like the video here states..management wasn't conducive to this. They were capped out. Just let it go, myself included, move on, and really, it's going to be a game, like others..there will be some drama. It should be a win-win situation but that's life.

  8. i'm a huge canucks fan that has been following them closely since the stanley cup run, and I'll say that the reaction by Canucks fans to Horvat's comment was waaaay over the top. I sure hope he gets cheered tonight, not booed. He was a great captain, and frankly I didn't even think his comment was out of line. Nucks fans are just too sensitive from a decade of mediocrity.

  9. We cheered for him for 9 years and he disrespected Vancouver in a heartbeat. We can boo him for 19 minutes tonight. We don't owe him anything.

  10. 0:557 And he was right to feel that way after he was comfortably settled into his new team.

1:22 Remember Vancouver's playoff push once he was captain? There were no fans in the building. At all. So, yeaaaaaah…. That's not the fault of Vancouver fans. If they are taking it personally, they're just hoping he meant it "that way" for the sheet drama.

Anyone who boos him tonight lacks any kind of class and obviously wouldn't understand the frustration of missing the playoffs from the perspective of a player.

1:45 Remember when Messier basically kicked Linden while he was struggling on the ice in pain? Yeah, I remembered. No comparison. Messier was disliked by many upon his arrival, and it never got better, given how things went from there.

    2:19 THANK you.

3:10 Benning was atrocious at contracts. It wasn't all bad though. Mostly bad, but not all bad. lol (thanks for Petts (actually, thank you Linden), Hugs and Brockstar).

If there's a noticeable amount of boos (hey classy fans, drown it out with cheers will ya?), I hope Hugs has something to say about it after the game. What I do like about Hugs as captain is he will speak his mind.

NINE god damn years and all he got was a rookie season playoff series followed by a really weird no-fans-in-building playoff run.

If you're reading this and you're going to the game tonight, enjoy the game. Be loud for your Vancouver Canucks. Start the wave. Rail against bad calls. But let Horvat play his game for his team. He deserves to be happy no matter who he plays for. And if you feel the need to boo him, consider this: It's unlikely the Islanders are making the playoffs this season, while it seems quite clear the Canucks will. If you believe in karma (not that it should even apply here), there it is.

  11. Bro if he had a bit of a better wording in that interview, Vancouver would be rolling out the red carpet for his return. A hero's welcome of sort. What is missing from his quote is the CONTEXT of it, it's no secret that the Canucks have been horrible most of the time Bo was there. The only time fans had anything to cheer about was the bubble, aka no fans allowed there, while Bo was popping off in the 2020 playoffs, there was literally no fan reactions in the area. But Bo popping off on the Islanders in their hunt for the 2023 playoffs, fan were there and loud, of course that feels better. It isn't Bo fault for the Canucks only making the playoffs in 2020 in the bubble, that's poor management and he didn't ask to be traded either, again management.

  12. Bo is awesome! I was so bummed when they traded him instead of Miller (Miller is good too). The guy didn't ask for a trade and I didn't ever hear him say negative things about the Canucks or Vancouver. People now a days are just looking to be angry over anything and everything. Drama is a powerful drug. All that being said, I want the Nucks to pound the islanders into oblivion….on the scoreboard!

  13. This is all medias doing, why am I seeing a thousand videos of this up, all of media and these sports channels are trying to make the fanbase sound bad for no fucking reason. You just compared it to Messier he was an absolute piece of trash for Vancouver it's way different.

  14. instead of booing everybody should chant "Hor….. Hor….. Hor….."
(but spelled diff yanno? just in case you dint get the joke)

  15. Taking my Bo stick and rink out of retirement tonight to show how much that man meant to this franchise up until he was traded.

  16. Update: things went pretty alright all things considered šŸ˜‚ some booā€™s here and there but Iā€™d say the overall reception was very positive! Was a highly emotional night for everyone involved it seemed.

But perfect ending with Hughes winning it for the Canucks, ushering in this new era officially!
