Jagr’s 99 playoff cannot be understated. Without him, we’re simply not talking about the Pittsburgh penguins anymore.
Like most, I was chapped when he signed with the flyers but after the initial shock I was just happy to see him playing again in NA.

I was lucky enough to meet Jagr October 3, 1997 in the inaugural game against The Hurricane after a Penguins Victory!
First goal I ever saw was Jagr beating some Islanders defenders and scoring. I was immediately hooked on the sport. Kept checking every night trying to catch another game. It wasnt long before the playoffs started and we win our first cup. I might have missed all of that if not for the fortuitous timing of switching the channel just in time to see that remarkable play.
Think it helped that the Kings played the night before as that game went on.
The Pens will have a similar scenario tonight, playing a tired Sabres team. Hopefully they can exploit their weak defense.
On another note, I'm very happy Jags will have his jersey retired here. People make too much about how things ended, without paying enough respect to what he did for the franchise.
I like how Sid saw that copley was cheating to one post and did the wrap around and then rusty did the same thing when copley again favored the one side.
jake, geno, sid, and rust all have at least a point per game. smith and karlsson both have 11 points in 12 games. letang has 7 points. pettersson is a +7, graves is a +4.
