Montreal ranks 19th in drafting since then, but would probably be late 20’s if it wasn’t propped up by the amazing 2007 class.

It’s also interesting seeing how horrible we’ve been in the middle rounds which I assume means 3-5. From 2007-2018 the only guys we’ve gotten from those rounds to hit 100 games are Gallagher, Hudon, Andrighetto, Pezzetta, Mete, and Harris isn’t there yet but will be this season. Brutal list for 11 years of drafting.

This ends in 2018 so Caufield, RHP, Guhle, Hutson, etc. aren’t counted yet

2007 was the year we drafted Ryan McDonagh and Max Pacioretty in the first round. McDonagh was traded to NYR alongside Higgins to get Scott Gomez, but he has had a great career putting up 357 points in 854 games and a +/- of 229.

Edit: We also got P.K Subban in the 2nd round that year

Great visual. Yeah, doesn’t make Timmins look very good.

If you hide 2007 with your finger, kinda look like we’re consistent 🙂

Can you show the same stats for Boston? Folks refer to them as not a rebuilding team and I think it’s because their picks above expected are ridiculously high.

  8. All we need to remember to sum up the Trevor Timmins era are his comments about Quinn Hughes. What an imbecile.

To me it’s inconceivable that one of the 3 richest team in the NHL can’t put the money to beef up its scouting department and ensure it produces top tier results.

  10. Okay, but.. how are wins added and expected wins added even calculated?

This is kind of unrealistic because is doesnt take into account the value of the draft on any given year versus your position in the lottery… The way you draft is also directly related to your position given at the end of the season. Not saying we would wind-up top 5 necessarily, but still….

How do they count this, and how are we supposed to read it?

It’s the number of wins a player is supposed to get the team?
