The Edmonton Oilers Are UNBELIEVABLE

In what might just be the “Get Right Game”, the Edmonton Oilers dummied the Washington Capitals, and made a shutout statement 5-0. Will the Oilers get back on track because of this unbelievable performance?

  1. Ok, now no one watch them for the rest of the season and they might win enough to get into the playoffs. So strange to see a Friday afternoon oiler shutout.

  2. That sucks Tyson, I have a day job as well but I was still able to watch /listen to the game at work.

  3. Caps looked and played like crap. I think they spotted us a mercy win. That or Bettman told them to let us win.

  4. Just because they win one game in fashion doesn't mean there good yet there going to have to get consecutive wins in a row to be considered back to normal.
    Good on them betting caps

  5. There is no joy in seeing the oilers out of the playoffs by Christmas. We need to see a surge, a 65% win rate from here on out, and then a loss on the last game of the season to miss the playoffs by a point. Go oil!

  6. Avs, Jets, Stars probably top 3 locks in the Central; Golden Knights, Kings and Canucks in the Pacific. Not including us, the 2 wild card spots will come down to Blues, Preds, Flames, Kraken and Minny (if they can right the ship). If we can start to put up some wins and get on a roll, I think we can beat out those teams to make the playoffs — none of them look super impressive. Still have to repeat this kind of performance many times in the immediate future, but there might be some hope.

  7. Connor Brown is stealing our cap space… 0 goals and 0 assists… Just my opinion…

  8. Imagine how good the Oilers would look if they had klefbom &larsson on it… They had Vegas down & out during the playoffs but they let them off the hook . This team is CAPABLE of beating ANY NHL team. Management will bring in several guys –eventually that will HELP in tight games …..

  9. I almost want the Oilers to tank the rest of the season so we can get that 1st round draft pick so we can get a goalie. 🤡 🌍

  10. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Washington Capitals. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones provided to give a foundation.

At the end of the 1st period Edmonton had scored twice. Ovi took a penalty at the end of the 1st. Oilers had outshot Washington 21 to 6 with 8 hits to 12, 12 faceoffs won to 4, 4 giveaways each, 2 takeaways for the Oilers and the Oilers had ZERO blocked shots (on 6 SOG by Washington) vs 6 by Washington (again on 21 shots). The Nuge goal was one of patience for him to bat the puck out of the air into the net (WITHOUT high sticking). With 11:32 left in the game it was 5-0 with the Oilers getting 3 consecutive Power Play Goals (Leon with 2). Team is clicking as is the PP (and the PK, Capitals are 0/4 on the PP so far). When the game ended the Oilers won 5-0 with ZERO scoring in the 3rd period (though the Oilers gave up 2 more penalties, the PK kept the sheet clean). Great to get the win wish it could have been more out of the 4. We aren't catching ground on LA. Take care all.
