Dougie Hamilton had a few lapses defensively that left the Devils very vulnerable. Nobody was in a good mood postgame, especially Jack Hughes.

Bench Hamilton bring up Nemec.
Serves the Devils right that they extended head coach Lindy Ruff’s contract after one great season. His players have become complacent.
The devils are lacking a physical presence and are too easy to play against. Maybe the best way to address this is by adding to their defense, I think Fitz needs to do something or the season could become in jeopardy. Can’t believe it’s come to this but there it is.
Team showed no heart? The heart was ripped out of this team with all the needless moves by fitzgerald in the off season.
WHY is there no accountability on the GM?!? HE put this turkey together, it's his team.
You ask, people are wondering what happened to this team?
Well, lets review: In the off season the defense was depleted so we could afford to pay Meir more than Jack Hughes.
The decision was made to ride these goaltenders WITHOUT A PLAN B. Absolutely NO muscle or protection was added for your best player(s).
And all the cap space was used up. the result:
We became slower, older, more expensive and completely less effective. ALL this courtesy of Fitzgerald.
And you have the gall to ask What Happened?! The answer is the GM ruined this team.
And why you discuss this or that, corsi this or corsi that, blah blah blah,… we are pushing Jack Hughes out of the door.
He will, with no doubt, be an NHL all-star. One for the history books but, it wont be in a Devils jersey.
And not one of you even mention Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald is THE worst GM in the Devils history
Devils need to add some legit physicality to the roster. I want to see one or two guys step up and fight someone. Devils dont have that on the roster. They get bullied by the more physical teams. And when they dont have their full roster, they dont have the speed amd skill to counter it.

Get a goalie that can stop 90% of shots

Dougie, right now, is not even close to being top anything. In his current state he's just a terrible version of Hedman. A liability. Prove your worth 9 mil otherwise bench him and send a message. The problem though, is the message more important than a potential worsening impact?
Scratch him….i ve always said we need a hard nose, stay at home D man…..devils are really soft, when they play the rags I hate to see them pounded…Thank goodness we have lazar and Nemo to provide some grit.
Dude is like -15, yes it will make the Devils better. He needs to learn he's not special and needs to perform to keep his spot.
Easily Dougie's worst game as a Devil defensively, and he's had some doozies. Sucks that we lost, but it's harder when those two boneheaded, blown assignments cost NJD on both 1p goals against. Especially when we're already in a long skid. Akira was pretty good. Devils finally got offensive pressure. But it's all for nothing when hose mistakes are still being made. Frustrating as anything.
