  1. They got pekkala Hronek win Norris I'll be Happy 1 -2 punched Hughes Hronek Top 2 scoring soon we need more Hughes Hronek Soucy ok Mcward soon up there

  2. as a wings fan, I'm just very happy for Hronek. He deserves this success and I hope he continues to play well for Vancouver

  3. Why was Zadina rated so high? Why didn't he develop? Is ASP going to be better than Hronek? Would the wings still trade Hronek?

  4. Not upset about the hronek trade. It was fair. The zadina/ Hughes situation though.. Shaking my head. Lol who would have thought?

  5. I was extremely disappointed when Detroit picked Zadina right ahead of us, because we would have picked Zadina had he been available. So we ended up the the consolation prize in Quinn Hughes. I think it turned out ok.

  6. I only get to see the highlights but those I have seen those two are great. I do get to see double headers on Max Wednesdays for now so that is cool.

  7. The best dpair in the league is in Colorado. Delighted that Vancouver has benefited from five games against the horrible teams in Edmonton and San Jose…as well as a garbage Western conference in general, but picking up a +23 goal differential by beating up on bottom feeders should be kept in perspective. The Canucks have had a ridiculously easy schedule so far and they're running out of games against Pacific division bottom feeders. Eventually they'll have to play more teams that don't suck. Their losses are to Colorado, NYR, Tampa, Calgary, Seattle, Toronto, etc. Seems like their record isn't all that great when they play decent teams.

Edmonton's current GM unwisely chose Filip "the bust" Zadina at 6th overall. Then Detroit traded Hronek to Vancouver for what most Canuck fans saw as an overpayment at the time. While Hronek is an excellent dman and was clearly rounding out his game in Detroit before he was traded, rumor was that Yzerman wasn't going to meet Fil's ask on his contract extension…so he added a 4th and flipped Hronek to Vancouver for a 1st and a 2nd. It was hardly a gift. Detroit wasn't really competitive yet and they drafted Hronek's theoretical replacement(A.S.P.) with the draft pick they got for Hronek. Time will tell if it was a good move or no…for now it looks like both teams benefited. Hronek's extension and Pellikka's future will have a major bearing on how this trade looks in hindsight years from now.

  8. Glad to see Hronek thrive in Vancouver so far, and I'm sure most of Red Wings nation feels the same. Of course, the winner of this trade all depends on how Axel Sandin Pellikka turns out.

As for Hughes, trust me, I had him circled in my 2018 draft wish list, but nope… Ken Holland had to draft Zadina instead. Disappointing. I wanted that kid to work out because of what we could've had otherwise. Alas… bygones.

  9. With trades like these, you're always going to see the benefit for the team that get the NHL calibre player. Detroit gave him up because they knew he'd get a big raise after this season. With the pick they got from Vancouver, Detroit selected Sandin-Pellikka, projected to be a top 4 offensive defensemen. The problem is that if Detroit goes on to win the Cup or at least make the Finals with that player or assets they acquire with SP, and the Canucks don't, long term Detroit wins the trade. The Canucks did what a team does when they think they're close…to a Stanley Cup. The Canucks haven't made the playoffs yet, and they're throwing away 1st round pick and potential top 4 Ds that can be had for 3 years at ELC for a guy who will probably command $8 million next season. The summer is going to be scary because while Myers' contract comes off the Cap and it's expected to go up a couple of million, Pettersson is expected to eat up in the double digits and Hronek could be close to that. What he's doing is great, but it's a team game. If the Canucks can't keep everyone signed under the Cap and have TEAM success, nothing Hronek or Hughes are doing right now matters – except of course to them and making more money.
