The Minnesota Wild lost their sixth straight game as they fell 3-2 to the Colorado Avalanche at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild fell behind 2-0 early in the second period before goals from Kirill Kaprizov and Joel Eriksson Ek tied the score at 2-2. The Avs took the lead for good on a goal from Kurtis MacDermid to make it 3-2. The Wild had an extra attacker with a minute remaining in the third period but could not manage the tying goal. Filip Gustavsson saved 23 of 26 shots in the losing effort and the Wild penalty kill was 4 of 5 but the Wild had too many stretches where they were chasing the puck. The Wild head to Detroit for their next game on Sunday at noon.

It does not matter how you "tried"!!! This team went almost 20 minutes without a single shot on goal from 2nd period and well into the 3rd. They didn't "fall short" they crapped the bed again. Matt Boldy ended up a complete minus tonight! Then the 2023 WILD tradition of coughing up the puck in their own zone compliments of Stump Merrill who cannot handle the puck again, lamely brushes it toward Rossi who is basically looking the other way! Bogosian completely out of position and waddy'a know, bing, bang boom it's over! Another Home Ice LOSS…

This team cannot win without production from huge swatches of the lineup. Boldy played the 1st period, disappeared, P2 and P3 and continued his turnovers thereafter, killing the PP all by himself. 90/89/26/36/4/38 all pretty much stunk. This group seems to not want to play together, maybe an Iowa reunion in March is in order….

Why bother…everytime I watch a wild game I tend to throw my shoe at the TV. Hence my TV viewing is becoming to be expensive. Slow,gritty,and now very sensitive…who knew gritty translates into poor baby are your feelings hurt. Then there's dean doing his best version of pj fleck. However, let's give the wild fans credit for tolerating watching gopher football on ice. My conclusion…have dean and Billy dress up like pj fleck ( include the sun glasses and bubble gum). After all if your goal is to emulate Mr fleck in coaching, might as well be him in all facets.

Boldy is streaky and will go off at some point. He should work on some upper body strength in the offseason. He plays too much with his stick up high.

Dean Evason is on the hot seat, but this is Billy Guerin's mess as much as it is Evason's. If Evason goes, then Guerin should go as well.
I don’t know what Wild fans expect. We just don’t have the quality of players to compete against the top tier teams. Kaprisov isn’t good enough to shoulder the entire load – nobody is. Everyone needs support. Gretzky had Kurri, Lemieux had Jagr, McKinnon has an embarrassment of support. Who does Kaprisov have? Certainly not Zuc or even Erickson Ek and Hartman. This team just doesn’t have the troops. Until they do, we can expect more of the same.
Best thing you can do is just walk away and do other things. I’m just surprised this didn’t happen sooner but after game 3 of the season it felt like it was gonna go south for awhile and possibly the rest of the year. I think Dean has lost the locker room and it’s likely he won’t get it back. Enjoy your holidays and let The Wild Management figure it out.
