3. I think Vincent sucks as a coach. He doesn’t know how to protect a lead other than parking the bus totally and it has failed more than its worked!

Vincent is a bad coach. Period. His strategy of hunkering down while the opponent shells the shit out of us barely works in a tied game. It absolutely is devastating when you have a one goal lead and the other team is getting more aggressive.
The fact that we *consistently* lose the exact same way is why I lay that at his feet. It is a systemic problem. If we were losing in blowouts and then one goal games and then blowing leads I’d feel differently. Every single loss is the exact same fucking loss. We lose a lead late while we get out shot 2:1 or 3:1.
His saving grace is that no way is ownership gonna pay Larsen, Babcock, and this idiot to not coach the same team. If Jarmo wants even a remote chance at keeping his job maybe he can just secretly demote Vincent and name an assistant interim head coach. Vincent can just give all his lame ass motivational speeches that have zero Xs and Os behind it while someone actually tries to improve the current strategy of “Pray Elvis morphs into a literal brick wall.”

I’m gonna bitch and grumble, then be right back for the next one.
Yeah. I’m more or less done. You can usually tell when a coach isn’t working and Pascal just isn’t working. It’s nothing personal, I think he’s a good guy and all, but he shouldn’t be in the fucking job in the first place. This isn’t Larsen revisionism but the fact is that he was part of Larsen’s team and partly oversaw that disaster.
He is a coward. Every single time we’re up by 1 or 2 goals, he stops coaching, parks the fucking war tank in front of net, and starts praying for an Elvis masterclass. Is this really what we’ve come to? And then he comes out and says “we’re so close” no we fucking aren’t. And fuck off with Svoboda and the rest of them spinning this like “we’re just so unlucky” this isn’t luck when it happens 10 or more god damn times. It’s the same shit almost every single game because he coaches us to turtle and we never take the initiative to score more, or try and extend the lead. It’s not fucking good enough.
But we can’t even get rid of him. We just have to truck on for the rest of the season because our brilliant GM decided to hire a sexual criminal and had to fire him when it inevitably blew up in his face. So now we’re stuck with a guy that clearly isn’t gonna be the coach after this season and is just a stop gap. And I really hope that Jarmo isn’t the person choosing the coach after Pascal.
How can a team with THAT MUCH TALENT ON THE ICE produce results like this. Coaching and management are a shitshow. Massive clear out has to happen at the end of the season.
I was pretty hands off on him up to this point but it’s hard not to lay this one at the coach’s feet. Even if you don’t expect to score some sustained pressure on their end would have changed the outcome of this game bc Elvis could get a break then

watching laine in the ozone was brutal. Almost every pass was immediately turned over. He really needs a point streak sooner rather than later. the line had a few chances but other than that it was pretty flat.
if his production continues to stagnate idk what they are going to do with him. He historically scores well against the canes and in laine fashion could have potted a few when it didn’t really matter to seal the game….
