It takes two to tango. If Calgary is not interested in trading with Toronto than it's not going to happen. Time to look for alternatives and not get hung up on Zodorov or Tanev. Toronto needs a d-man now and not wait until March.

The Ref is looking right at them, because the play is, in front of the Net, he has two hands rapped around Tavares, before dragging him to the ice, NO PENALTY call, when the Leafs were buzzing the net!!!
This type of officiating has been hampering the Leafs, for the last 10 years or so and once they say something or retaliate, the Leafs are given the penalty or they gave a penalty to both teams??? WTF???
There should be a camera placed on the Ref's and how they are calling or NOT calling the game, when the play is right in front of them and they pretend not to see it!!! Then you will see why Marner is always pissed at the Ref's, as he should be!!!

What team puts all of their talent on one or two lines, TORONTO AND EDMONTON, all the others spread their talent around the team, to have a more even talented team, that is harder to play against!!!
Because all of their lines are equal and the players feel equal and not sitting on the bench wondering, if they are going to be put out there!!!

In my opinion Dubas screwed the team tying up the lion's share of the team budget on four players.
He had zero NHL managerial experience and it showed! His "tactic" was not to negotiate, rather, he decides the bending over method was best!!
He sabotaged his chances of being extended when he was asked by Shanahan asked him not to go ahead with the media interview, his "good friend" who went to bat for the ingrate, and secured Dubas the job making him the youngest NHL GM in league history, and how does Dubas repay Shanahan? He not only goes ahead with the interview anyway, but for anyone paying attention to that interview, it was as though Dubas had already made up his mind, he was not returning, but instead of being a man and just letting the team and his "good friend" Shanahan know what his actual intentions were (more on that shortly) he went with the back stabbing vile weasel maneuver!!
So, during that interview Dubas looked as though he just shit the bed and knew the stench of betrayal was about to assault the team's blow holes so he went to work sewing doubt and hoping nobody would notice until he made his Rocky Mountain Weasel escape!
He went on about how he wasn't sure if he'd be back and painted this bleak picture of family unrest and insinuated he was thinking about saving his marriage by taking a big fat pass on the Leaf's extension offer, which, again, his "good buddy" Shanahan went to bat for the puke yet again and secured the slob everything he asked for!!
He even went on to say that if he decided to pass on the more than generous offer for sewing the team's ass to the dressing room carpet, he'd be doing it to fix his home life and you wouldn't see him popping up on some other team any time soon!!! WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SNAKE TURD!!
So, Shanahan let's the slob know ownership agreed to ALL HIS TERMS and as far as Shanahan was concerned, the deal was done!
THEN the filthy coward gets his agent to call and says Dubas not only wants the extension as Leaf manager, HE ALSO WANTS SHANAHAN'S JOB, THIS PUKE FEST WANTS TO SCREW HIS "GOOD BUDDY" AND WANTS FULL CONTROL!!!
That filthy slob knew there was no way that was happening, which is exactly how he wanted it! Then, in a FLASH Shitsbuerg announces they'd hired Dubas as President and GM!!! NO, THERE WASN'T ANYTHING SKETCHY ABOUT THAT!!!
That moose fart knew he screwed that team, he knew the Leafs were about to lose pretty much everybody he picked up on the cheap to unaffordable contract demands and other teams scooped them up pretty quick! He knew he sewed the team's ass to the carpet and there was no way he could see out of it!
Treliving has to get Marner to waive his no trade clause and get two top defensemen. Then he can use Klingberg's LTR money to add an upgrade forward for the second line, maybe another for the fourth line!
If he can swing that, this team will be a top two or three favor to win liquid cheddar!
Anyone who thinks Dubas was a great GM needs to put the hooch away! I could have submitted to the "core four" demands just as easy! He saw the writing on the wall AKA the ass sewed to the carpet and he got the hell out before someone figured it out!

Love Mathews and Marner for their elite hockey skills. But they’ll never win in Toronto. They’re both pussies and self serving fashionistas who don’t show up when the chips are down. Trade them both while their value is high and build around a Nylander captaincy; who’s built for Toronto. Keefe is not the right coach for Toronto…think Pat Quinn or Pat Burns for good examples.
Keefe played Marner and Matthews for three minutes and thirty-three seconds, less a time out, average over a minute and a half a shift, Had Nylander who had played almost 27 minutes , legs were done, Keefe has to go. Brodie made two good plays on penalty kill but made 7-8 bad plays in his own end whole game, Reilly one of best offensive dmen in league and terrible defensively
No matter what they add or subtract in terms of trades. This team will likely miss the playoffs if they can’t figure out the compete aspect of the game. They are frightfully weak between the ears and they don’t seem to care. Very hard to watch
