[Portzline] J.P. Barry, the agent for CBJ Dmitri Voronkov, says Voronkov “has done a 180” in his desire to return home to Russia. “He made the decision to stay over the weekend after talking to (Blue Jackets players and staff) and getting encouraged to stay, even by his family and friends.”

Poor kid. I remember being a young 20year old that ran off to another country. It’s rough. Even tho I had friend support, that first few months was scary and exciting at the same time. The call for home hurts sometimes. I get it. Glad he decided to stick it out for a bit longer šŸ™‚

Iā€™m happy not just because heā€™s a good player who is valuable, but he genuinely seems like a good kid who only wants to do his best. We need guys like this in the team, man.

I’m so glad that he’s decided to stay. I certainly wouldn’t have blamed him for leaving, but hot damn the kid has talent and he busts his ass every shift out on the ice.

  9. To anyone who has upended their life, that first year is really hard. Even more so with a language barrier and culture shock.

  10. Aw yis!!

Sometimes all you gotta do is ask for help, genuinely.

You know thereā€™s something toxic about Columbus when players are fleeing to Russia. The paycheck must have hit.
