I’ll add this. I know most of us didn’t want Kane, but I do feel like this is worth posting here since it was a discussion for a while up until like two weeks ago. If not, mods feel free to remove it. Also, we do play DET on Wednesday, but I highly doubt he’ll be ready to play by then

We can finally move on from this. Onto hoping Ottawa continues to shit their pants since senko has nearly as many goals as kakko did and only 1 more point than laf has. Also seeing if duclair is available for cheap.
I think duclair and senko (provided kakko is out for a while) and shift wheeler to center (if chytil is still not at his best or has a set back) would be a good deadline.
Vatrano reunion as well is probably out of the question since he is tied for 3rd in the league in goals (3 players at 15, 2 at 14, 5 at 13)

Thank goodness. Now we can truly seek to address our needs rather than try to throw out a ‘Galactico’ style roster that doesn’t work in the playoffs. If Kakko is out long-term it opens up some cap flexibility if he’s on IR/LTIR so it will make it easier to bring in a target or targets with the necessary jam and two-way play that is key to playoff success. A trio of possibilities: Ryan Hartman in Minnesota (1.7m cap hit), Mathieu Joseph in Ottawa (2.95 cap hit) & Shane Pinto (unsigned & suspended until January). All three can play Center or RW, can fit under the cap and are all under 30

Granted, the Wings could offer more $/term than us. But if Kane lights it up with Detroit now, and especially in light of the (hopefully not too serious) Kakko injury, I am going to be irrationally angry at the staunch anti-Kane takes in here.
But if he sucks, I’ll admit you guys were right.
