No worries Chinny, I am unhappy with Jarmo as well

I dunno if he thinks he’s not getting enough responsibility or trust, he needs to produce more. He’s been on the third line, he’s injured frequently, and he’s on the power play. I think that seems like a good amount of “trust” for someone with 4 points in 12 games.

Edit: last night was a two point night for him and he was making these complaints last week. So he was bitching when he had 2 points. Ok Chinakov

I think Chinakhov unhappiness lies more with coaching staff since they are the ones who ice the players.

i don’t really get the issue with him. He’s been hurt and been on the third line some. Even on the second PP unit. No idea what else he’d expect.

  5. NontransferableApe

He’s hurt and isn’t going to crack a lot of teams top 6 and misses the net constantly. I don’t know. Just be better

If this is actually the case, I might see his perspective. Laine has been a train wreck out there most of the season. Chinny has a higher running motor, nearly as good of a shot, and has shown he’s willing to work hard every shift. Doesn’t turn the puck over nearly as much trying to dangle 2-3 people either. I think if I saw that taking up a lot more minutes I’d be wondering why there weren’t opportunities to take some of those minutes

I like Chinakhov, but his cannon of a shot is wildly inaccurate. I wonder if he too often just tries to drop bombs from the blue line instead of getting closer to the net and then shooting.

could stuff like this ultimately explain the amount of scouts at the game last night?!

  9. tread_lightly94

Hopefully we found something last night with the Voronkov Chinakhov express then

  10. Jarmo can be faulted for a lot, but he doesn’t make the lineup, Chinny.

  11. Bro WHAT

Can we not have something good for even a single day?

i mean if im chinakhov and i see the lengths the team is willing to go to to elevate patrik laine and make sure he’s in the absolute best position to figure things out while im being bounced around lines as an afterthought, i would maybe be upset also

but also if im chinakhov i would try getting my shot right before i rock the boat. even with solid play for the past several nights, he remains at 50% of unblocked shots just missing the net (9th worst in NHL among players with 150 minutes TOI)

chinny has stepped his game up in a million ways. career highs in hits/60, blocked shots/60, shooting % (inflated because he’s missing the net at a career worst level), he’s skating faster than ever, etc.

the roster is in a really weird spot with the number of mid-level guys we have. chinny just crossed 100 games of nhl service last week so he hasn’t had time to separate himself from the pack.

Jarmo going to lose another first rd pick. At this rate, Jarmo should just trade the first each year. His success rate is garbage in the first rd. He’s a 2nd and later rd guy.

    2013 – Wennberg, Rachel, Dano
    2014 – Milano
    2015 – Carlsson
2016 – PLD (didn’t want to go thru a rebuild)
2017 – no picks to lose
    2018 – Foudy
    2020 – Chinakov???

  14. If he wants out trade him while he is hot. He’s had opportunities to succeed and hasn’t been good. Now he is playing fairly good but he isn’t going to be a superstar. Still he looks better than Laine right now. Trade them both, retain 50% of Laines salary to get an actual return on him. Carolina might take a chance with him and they don’t necessarily need Necas because they have Kotkaniemi and Aho. Now that they are chasing the cup, Laine at -50% for few seasons has about the same value as Necas at 7-8m which is his next contract.

If either of China or Voronkov do leave, I’m just not gonna be sure what the franchise can do anymore. Would need a cultural reset and a tear down from the bottom up

  16. Degen_parlays

I think this is a nothing burger. He’s going to see increased ice time. He has a presence on the ice. His speed, shot, and he’s strong.

If we lose chinny, that would be devastating, I truly think he has star potential

I’m honestly not surprised that so much dissatisfaction is going on with this team. Not to beat a dead horse but the Babcock signing is just emblematic of how the FO hasn’t had the players best interests in mind for a very long time. Now that the biggest examples of thst are going away, many players probably feel more empowered to assert some of that dissatisfaction. Which is good and bad. Reason 1000 why jarmo needs to be gone tho
