  1. I like where the Wings are going, but I'm not really sure about this deal. Thankfully, the contract won't impact the salary cap too much. I hope it works out.

  2. Wings aren't cup contenders, so this is strange, but the contenders have zero cap space, so it's not so strange. Low-risk, so I'm okay with it.

  3. Kane on that Pokemon mentality of "gotta catch 'em all" for the original six teams

  4. He's flipped at deadline if they arent in playoff position win win for yzerman.

  5. Steevie Y up to it again. My only worry is how that surgery will affect Kane. Imagine Kane, Larks, Cat on the same line. Either way pretty low risk contract for the wings.

  6. YES!!!!!!
My son's friend sent me a story link on this earlier this morning, thought he was pranking me. He's a Hawks fan, and I always liked/respected the Hawks as an original 6 team and a region rival. I loved the prime years of Kane/Toews, how they came back out of nothing in 2008-09.
Can you imagine…a first line of Larkin / DeBrincat / Kane!?!?!? Man, I hope his hip is healed good and he gets the system, 'cause this is (probably) going to be awesome to watch. Cautiously optimistic, but optimistic nonetheless.

  7. Ask most wings fans and you’ll get the same response. Wings aren’t a cup contender yet. They’re fringe playoffs and 1st; maybe 2nd round exit currently. They have another 2-5 years before they can get to the point of contention. At which point captain Dylan Larkin will be 29-32 years old. Patty Kane will be in his late 30’s, but who knows how long he can stay around the league.

  8. anyone find it funny that they sign him to detroit the day before a back to back when they play the Rangers tmo and the Blackhawks Thursday? maybe a coincidence, nah definitely not

  9. It’s a big disappointment that he’s not with the Rangers, but I hope he has a good year with Detroit, and can help mentor their young talent. His experience will go a long way.

  10. 🎶Where's my gangstas and all my thugs?
Throw them hands up and show us some love
And uh, welcome to Detroit city
I said welcome to Detroit city🎶
    😎🤙

    #Welcome To Detroit Kaner!, let's get it!🔥🔥🔥🏒

  11. Red Wings fan here. No risk, all reward. I’m hoping he’ll still be able to produce comparatively well post-surgery, but if not, then we’ve been doing nicely this year so far without him. We only stand to benefit with DeBrincat/Kane on the same line.

  12. It was either Detroit or Buffalo, but Detroit was making the most noise on him landing there than any other team.
