  1. I said it after the second Canucks loss, every backup goalie in the league better be checking apartment listings in Edmonton.

  2. Absolutely. We don’t need to carry the 3 goalies. Lyon has looked great.
I think a trade is for sure coming because the wings signed Kane and recalled Berggren to the NHL. The roster math doesn’t add up.
I’m fine with packaging Reimer and a depth forward for a better return and it helps alleviate the log jam of forwards we have that are blocking our prospects from cracking the roster

  3. If Edmonton is actually going to be a contender for the cup they need a Saros/ Hellebuyck sort of goalie. Nothing against Riemer but he isnt a Cup starter. Edmonton also needs to trade most of their D core and maybe a couple forward snipers to get some HEFTY defense upgrades.

  4. With the way Douche-Hard was giving away the puck earlier this year Reimer…or even Hasek would not have faired any better. The problem was DEFENCE far more than goaltending.

  5. Reimer isnt gonna move the needle in edmonton, but hey if youre desperate and willing to give a decent pick, we will take it tyvm.

  6. Mmmmmm🤔 idk about given up Kostin.. he's the type of guy that you need a playoff run.. that sand paper, grit.. toughness.. the don't really have any guys like that and i feel every championship caliber team needs at least one guy like that.. i wouldn't do it..
Besides we as Red Wings fans haven't got to see as much of Kostin as we were hoping for so far.. so i know I'm personally still looking forward to that and how he blends with the rest of the boyz..

  7. I would wager that Yzerman predicted that at least one (edmonton) team at the 20 game mark would be in desperate need of competent goal tending, and set himself up to be a seller of such an asset. He will rob Holland blind.

  8. Oilers fan here. The only reason the Oilers let go of Kostin was for cap reasons (which isn't a good look now that we know what Campbell is). Personally, I'd take both Reimer AND Kostin, but the Oilers would need to find a way to dump Campbell's contract, and I don't think teams are going to be lining up to help them do that.

  9. I'd almost rather move Husso. He's too inconsistent. Goes toe to toe with shesterkin one night, then let's in a bunch of soft goals the next. Not sure what he's deal is. I'd like to give Lyon a look at no 1. and see if he is up for it.

  10. As a Wing's Fan I'd be happy with a 3rd for Reimier! Detroit ate Yamamoto's contract to get Kostin and his physical play is something Detroit lacked last season. Now if Edmonton had a player like that they wouldn't need Kostin and I don't want to say they won't trade him but I do think it's going to take more than McLeod who I've seen a lot in return for Kostin.

  11. My guess is Yzerman sat there and said let’s see if we are in a playoff position come thanksgiving. When they were he felt it was time to pull the trigger. With prospects galore in the system and plenty of cap space he goes and gets Kane, now he’s gonna take this roster to the moon.

  12. Id love to see a hockey trade. Detroit sends reimer and kostin to Edmonton in return for ……???

Detroit eats cap if it helps
