Workplace matter. Players don't know what it is. Doesn't involve players families. Isn't criminal. It must be something he did to a staff member. But what conduct could it be that is bad enough to terminate a contract yet fall short of being criminal? Just saying something?

So it isn't connor, it isn't illegal, it was very contrary to the background of the player and they are saying it was an individual matter. I seriously cannot think what it could be other than Corey being absolute dissentive and horrible to an office staff member. If it was alchohol or drugs, it would be player program. I simply cannot put my finger on it.
Coming from an avs fan who hates Chicago's guts, you have to feel for the guy, seems like a chill, kind, genuine dude who just wants the best for his team and players.

My guess is sexual assault of a staff member or another player. It's the only thing I can think of that would cause a GM to be so visibly upset. Along with that knowledge, is the feeling of helplessness to do anything other than releasing the player from the team.
For those asking why no legal action has been taken…Proving that sexual assault happened, in a legal setting, is EXTREMELY difficult. Especially if it was not a very recent event, and there is no physical evidence. It's very easy for the perpetrator to flip the script in those cases…they can claim that people are coming after them because they are well known/have lots of money, or that people are making false allegations with some ulterior motive. The court system is woefully incompetent when it comes to handling sexual abuse.
Let’s reserve judgement for Corey Perry and the lack of transparency from the Blackhawks organization.
We have no idea whether Connor’s Mom and Perry will keep the baby and complete the pregnancy.
