GAME RECAP: Penguins at Predators (11.28.23) | Rust Returns To Lineup

The Pittsburgh Penguins traveled to Nashville to faceoff against the Predators Tuesday night. Bryan Rust, after missing the last three games due to injury, returned to the line-up. About halfway through the 1st, the Predators struck the back of the net. Michael McCarron deflected a shot from the point to get the first tally. Later, with a minute left in the period, on a delayed penalty call McCarron got his second of the night tapping in a loose rebound on the backdoor. Nashville held the lead 2-0 at the end of the 1st. Reilly Smith carried the puck into the offensive zone. Pulling the defense with him, gives a no-look drop pass to Evgeni Malkin who ripped it over the glove to cut the lead in half. Carrying over a penalty from the end of the 2nd, the Penguins gained some momentum on the penalty kill. John Ludvig with the puck on the blue line passed it to Rust at the top of the circle. From long range, Rust recorded his 10th goal of the season to tie the game 2-2. The 3rd finished as a nail-biter, but for the second time this season, the Penguins went into overtime. The 4th period was short-lived, 14 seconds in the Predators got the go-ahead goal and the extra point. Nashville won 3-2.

  1. We played good but that powerplay needs work. We have had many games dependant on the powerplay which we failed to score on and lost. Like how Ludvigs been playing though.
