I have seen the rumors and have no idea why people find this all so funny when it’s not a funny story at all.

  1. Yeah, definitely not a situation to laugh about. And no team should sign Perry unless he comes forward to deny and provide proof that he did not violate the terms of his player contract and the team's policies for a professional and safe work environment. Perry's silence says it all.

  2. i want to know if the hawks would have the same reaction if bedard boned perrys mom…i think theres a double standard here.

  3. Seems as though ppl really can’t be adults anymore. Someone makes a rumour on twitter and thousands of ppl just blindly go along with it.

  4. This is the way of things… Blackhawks should know by now YOU HAVE TO GET IN FRONT OF THESE THINGS. Now, because all we got is vagueness, both as statements AND as a press conference, AFTER the rumor mill got going… Now I'm sitting here doing my best to believe Perry didn't pork some recruit's mom (to be fair, everyone says Bedard but the original texts I've seen only said a young player. There's more than one on the team) with no alternative in sight.
Hopefully Perry himself addresses the situation soon.

One thing I've been pondering…. would having sex with a teammate's mom be grounds for a contract termination? If they are both consenting adults….. it is their right (morally dubious if they each have partners but hey, that's on them, not the team). What I'm getting at is…. if the 1% chance this is all true does turn out to be the case…. does the NHLPA step in and go… 'listen, we get it, its bizarre and… so much more but…. there is nothing in the rule book about who can sleep with who, we believe this termination is invalid' ? That would be… interesting TV..

  5. I know what happened. Another rape happened and Blackhawks tried to cover up. Perry found out and wanted to expose those involved but Blackhawks did not want it. Now they are trying to blame Perry. Perry is a good man. We need to salute him!!!

  6. Back in the summer when Perry had his first presser with the team, he was asked if he contimplated retirement and replied with a strong "no". He wanted to play a long while. And all the sudden he could be done like that!

  7. Agreed. There’s nothing funny about this. We don’t need to know what really happened, and if we don’t already know, people should not spread rumors or demand to know what happened. I sure hope that this rumor isn’t true.

  8. It might be too soon to ask this, but if the rumours are even remotely true, does Bedard move past this? And if they aren't, how does he stay in market that made him a punchline of so many jokes?

  9. All I can add to this is Shannon, You sir are such a Gentleman and seem more and more likeable every time you make a video. Your Empathetic qualities are next level.

  10. I think people are just using this as an opportunity to score brownie points
    because
    1) They do not like the Chicago Blackhawks
    2) Bedard is not on their team and they have some vested interest in embarrassing him

  11. If Perry was a gentleman, he would come out and tell everyone what stupid thing he did and apologize, so to lift the pressure on Bedard.

  12. If Blackhawks would just state the reason. I think the rumors would die. Rumors start when the truth is surpassed. Blackhawks fumbled this.

  13. I love how some are saying this is the Hawks sweeping it under the rug again.
Going from initial report to investigation,😅 to cutting ties with the player in a matter of hours is hardly sweeping it under the rug.
Peoples family lives are affected here, facts must be proven before anything is said,
And then any victims must be protected.
The gap between initial reports and the final resolution was vary short, but of course there was plenty of time for the internet to fill in the blanks.
Some people will invent a story out of jealousy or sheer dickness, and I wonder if any folks reporting the rumors will apologize if it turns out to be malicious lies.
    Probably not

  14. As a stars fan the situation and approach from the team reminds me of the Montgomery termination. The lack of disclosing incidents publicly did not prevent monty from returning to the league, but as a player of a certain age Perry is in a more tenuous situation. Any team Perry would join will get the jeers and jokes as well, I do not see many teams willing to add the distractions he would bring even on his best behavior. Rough way to end a long career if so.

  15. It's pretty crazy that Chicago brought in 3 veteran leaders to help Bedard adjust to the league, and 1/4 of the way through the season, Hall is out for the year with an injury, and now Perry is gone for whatever reason. I believe Foligno is the only one left this season. Also, just knowing that Perry did something to get kicked off the team, and with Lucic doing what he did, what is going on this year with veterans? It's usually the coaches we hear about, not so much the players. If these things were to happen, I would have guessed they would happen with younger guys being stupid, not men in their 30's. Everyone in the league is old enough to know better, so it really comes down to lack of maturity, which doesn't form at the same rate/level with everyone.

  16. It's actually wild seeing this go from joking mumblings in chat rooms to the GM of the Blackhawks denying Corey Perry having "inappropriate relations with any member of the team, or their family."

  17. If this was soccer in england, then in every single Blackhawks away game the home crowd would be singing to the tune of go west "whaaat did Corey Perry do? Whaaat did Corey Perry do? Whaaat did Corey Perry do? What the f did Corey Perry do?"

  18. It's disgusting that the someone on the Blackhawks staff would again sexually assault a player just like they did with Kyle Beach.

  19. why even make a video about this if you feel so strongly about it? I don't use social media so this was actually my first time hearing about it, imo if it's true as long as it was consensual it's actually hilarious but so is an organization like the blackhawks having an annual mothers trip

  20. Every other team in the league should be imploring their players to keep their noses clean.
First Pinto, then Lucic, now this.
Seems like these pros need constant reminders to not mess up.
    C'mon, this isn't the NBA.

  21. Truley sad, good points For Conner. But this is Perry. And how many hockey fans love the roof caving in on him.thats why the jokes are all over the net.

  22. I'm very glad that you made this video without being the person who believes all the rumors. To expand on the video, Davidson came out later and said it had nothing to do with any players or their families and said the rumors are quote "disgusting" and said it was a "workplace matter," probably meaning it involved an employee. I don't believe that after all the Hawks have been through, Davidson would lie about all this. And for people asking for more transparency, this is it because it would expose the other party involved, and that would cause complete chaos. They've swiftly handled Perry in 6 days of the incident reaching the organization, and that's already a huge step in the right direction.
