I mean fuck Bettman, but I’m also thinking there’s ruling against cap circumventing and not really a current precedent against what happened in Chicago.

Didn’t the picks or fine get returned to NJ after that thing? I can’t remember but I’m pretty sure something like that happened

This is a false equivalency. Conduct that circumvents an article that governs competitiveness and conduct that is immoral can’t possibly be compared.
Immoral behaviour is unacceptable, but only impacts the single organization and those involved in/impacted by the behaviour. Cap circumvention impacts all 32 teams and competitive balance in the league. It will always be more harshly punished.

Could be worse… if he was Catholic he would’ve just quietly moved the sex offenders to a different team..

Well because one offense puts other teams at a disadvantage and the other does not.

Oh boy, has it been a whole week? Man I do love bringing up the same dead horse to beat on over and over, this is such a thought provoking subreddit and 100% not a karma farm circlekjerk.

Doin this one again huh?

Competitive rule breaking is not the same as front office offensives. No owner will or would vote for competitive punishments on front office offensives that they may or may not even know about. I get it’s an easy soap box to stand on but no league would do this and no league has.
